eheathNice man, golf is all about what you put into it, its very difficult to get better without some serious time. That being said, I learned when I was young but didn't pick it back up until about 12 years ago, start getting better/being more serious about it 5-6 years ago and the last couple of years i've been playing 3-5 days a week when its not snowing. My handicap is 8, best round is a +2 73.
tri_photoBeen working on the descending blow and finishing with my hands up higher. If I can make my short yardage game serviceable, I might break 80 this year haha

eheathIt's all about putting man, only times ive shot below 80 was because my putter was on fire.
tri_phototrue, but if I can put the ball closer to the pin in the first place, it would help my stupid game out hahaha
eheathSure, hitting greens in reg also makes it way easier but that doesn't always make up for a bad hole or two, gotta get some birdies here and there.
For me, getting better at putting has made a huge difference, I highly recommend to anyone trying to get better to put a good amount of time into putting, it pays off.
percsStarting job at golf course today. Drop your best rounds. Mine is a 81. Been golfing since corona but learned when I was young. Whats up with y'all
ScootSkiLyfeThere's gotta be some beautiful golf courses near Mt. Hood I would love to play at this May.
eheathWelches golf course has 27 holes, its a great course and I play it every time I go to hood.

tri_photoYeah that's true, and avoiding 3-putts like they're the plague is a must
ScootSkiLyfeI'm not so sure on my best game ever but the best game I ever shot competitively was an 89 freshman year of high school.
Been playing golf all my life but have been slacking after high school when I actually have to pay. If I've got the time I might pick it up a bit more this summer.

Ryancavanaugh-This is facts about having to pay. Now that my four years of free high school golf is over I see myself playing a lot less this year

CaseyI don’t know how people cough up the dough to play so many rounds- even walking a midweek twilight round is going to add up to thousands of dollars a year if you play multiple times a week. Around here at least there isn’t the same type of seasons pass type deals for golf that the ski areas have🤷♂️

OregonDeadI think it pretty much is like skiing. I don't really play that much but I've noticed a lot of courses do have season pass type deals. Kinda similar pricing to skiing too. Steep but if you make that your thing you can really bring the price down. If you really play every day for a year your price is only $2.74 per day on a $1000 pass. I saw a course the other day that had a special for an unlimited couples pass for $899 for a year

TreyDudskiSwing looking good, if I were you I would work a little on your posture when you are lining up to the ball and are about to hit (I forgot the oficial term and it’s killing me), if you fixed your posture to be a little taller, you’d be able to get more in sync rotation with your hips and shoulders which will lead the ball to go straighter, higher, and farther.. take a look at Rory Mcilroy when he is addressing the ball, homeboy is trying to put out his ass as much as possible

tri_photoI think you’re thinking of the term “addressing” the ball?
And wow, you’re absolutely right. I tried this today on the course and my yardage increased when I would hit it flush, and the contact felt stronger.
SnowshoeThompsonKirkland balls are just as good as most 5 dollars balls, change my mind
tri_photoPut up an 89 yesterday, first full 18 of the season. First 9 was atrocious, but the second 9 was consistent. Couldn't hit my driver, so I took my medicine and put it back in the bag. ended up with 2 or 3 pars on the second 9 because of doing that.
CaseyThat’s a tough thing to do. I always end up having a couple drinks and just being like fuck it I didn’t come out here to play well fuck laying up. Also why I am bad at the game.
tri_photoDidn't have anything to drink this round, and it really helped the swing tbh
soupSuch a fine line between drinks and loosening up and drinks and your arms are spaghetti.
