Arv 86 vs 96 weight difference

First half hour of your first day on they can feel a tad clumsy. Other than that, there is no noticeable difference.

I used arv 96 as my main park ski for awhile. It does decent in the park and super good all mountain. But to me they felt like a pretty heavy ski. You can still rip it in the park but it is noticeably heavy to me

I own 170cm 86s and use them for everything, park and trails alike. Friend let me use his 96s for an hour and it felt the same after a couple runs. They felt as playful as my 86s but better for carving and more stable at high speeds. That being said there’s other factors to consider such as waxing, edge wear, and the fact that I suck at skiing.

I’m on 177 86’s and 177 96’s and can honestly say that both my pairs weigh the same since my 86’s have thicker edges and heavier bindings where as my 96’s are the opposite. Make sure you go with a lighter set of bindings. I would personally stick with the same size ski if you’re looking for all mtn though, because if you ski through the trees already with your 177’s sizing up will definitely make the newer skis feel sluggish and bulky (obviously heavier) hopping around small stuff. So unless you plan to charge lots of steep and deep terrain there’s really no need to size up.

I ski almost exclusively park. ARV96's are my narrowest, shortest (177), and lightest skis and pivots are my bindings of choice. Trust me, it's all in your head. Of course there is a difference but it's so small you adapt to it after a few laps.
