Replying to Lost my pole in a steep chute…

So today I was skiing a steep chute out of bounds at my local hill here in AK. Takes about 30 minutes to hike to once you leave the gate. Bout halfway down the chute I fell and slid for about 50-60 yards. When I came to stop I was missing a pole. Looked up and didn’t see anything, probably landed on it and buried it deep I’m guessing. But hiking back up wasn’t really and option because of how steep and deep it was. So I just skied down with one pole and said fuck it.

anyone else been in this situation? Kinda feel like an asshole leaving my pole behind, but not sure what else I could have done.

going to hike back out there tomorrow and see if I can grab it.
