The more ice the more slide, and the longer the 2x4 the more technical you can get.
I think people need to pay more attention to this comment. The 2x4 really gives you so many possibilities packed into one simple plank. For example, find a pile of snow, now you have an up 2x4 (or a down 2x4 if you play your cards right). The best part is you can just use any old 2x4, just make sure to remove the nails and staples from it before use- or if you want to be core af: leave them in. Once you master a trick on the 2x4 you can easily bring it to a rail easily, a rail is just a metal 2x4 when you think about it.
