Came home, My boot liner stinks.

My boot liner stink. I wore a pair of old socks which got wet and stunk my boots up. I’ve tried fan drying, vinegar.. etc.

Anyone- Have you ever put a boot liner through the washer ? Then dryer ??? I’ve done it with shoes. But anyone see any issue with a boot liner??

Pee in them. Let them soak for an hour then bake them in the sun. Pee is sterile so it cleans your boots.

Probably facked for stink if vinegar didn't work, but you could try soaking the liners in a dish soap solution and then drying them out completely (no heat as that can adversely affect liner fit, just use a strong fan).

Best you can do moving forward between uses is to stick either silica gel packets in them or dryer sheets. I use the latter to help keep them smelling nice, which is a personal preference of mine.

i second dryer sheets.

never really cared about boot stink until people started complaining about a foul stench on a plane.

I actually hand washed today and I think it worked. Put dryer sheets in them. Set them on the air vent to dry, smelling good

I’ve never been able to really remove the smell once footwear starts to stink, you can kill all the stinky organisms and wash them and it’s still going to come back. This is your sign to buy intuitions or zipfits and a boot drier and always pull your liners at the end of the day.

Found a dead mouse in my liner and it fucking reeked of death to the point that I almost threw them out. Glad I didn't cause I took some antibacterial dish soap and swished it around with water in the liner, rinsed and repeated until the water pouring out of the liner was clear. Make sure to do it to the footbeds separately too. I recommend you do it in a bathtub cause you don't wanna get the brown water everywhere.
