Taos or Crested Butte on a storm day?

Starting a big ol road trip tmrw and cant decide if I should head to Taos or Crusty Butt to start. Either way I’ll be skiing during the heart of the upcoming storm so main concern is which will have more lifts open considering Avy mitigation and wind holds. Not supposed to be too windy at Crusty but when I’ve skied there in the past on storm days most of the good stuff has been closed until 2 or 3pm for avy mitigation. On the other hand it’s supposed to be super windy at Taos but in my experience they get the steep stuff open faster so main concern would be wind hold. Any intel is appreciated!

I like the butte better. They should be running high lift but with liftie shortages idk. If high lift is open that means teo is usually closed. If it’s the next storm there will be no lines since it’s the week but whatever you do don’t go to east river, if there’s any lines that’s where the worst.

Taos.
You can always get snow at Butte.
If the stars line up and you can perfectly time Taos, dont hesitate yo do it.

Taos 100%, Taos lift lines are nothing compared to Colorado. You can even end up having just as much snow as the big resorts. You have got the hike runs that hold snow multiple days on end. Taos is cheap(er) than Colorado and is a dream plus B corp certified!
All times are Eastern (-5)
