Skiing Withdrawl

Kinda new here, surfed for years, never made an account. But I been feeling something recently that made me want to finally fall into this place and contribute because I haven't been able to ski.

Do any of y'all experience withdrawals if you can't ski for an extended period in the season or when the season ends?

Cause I do, I feel sick, irritable, lazy, and almost can't stand myself. Wake up with a headache like I'm an alcoholic but it's because I cant ski lol. What this hobby has come to is almost like a drug lol.

I haven't been able to ski for over 2 weeks because of school and my distance from a resort and the last 3 days I was so mad and irritable at everything.

As a student restricted by budget and campus location, I’ll say there’s definitely truth to this! I’ll have periods were neither surfing or skiing is possible, and I’ll get this increasing feeling of anger and frustration building up. Good to hear I’m not the only one

Totally understand this. Life sometimes will just get in the way of what you want to do for a while and its frustrating as fuck. But I guess it makes the time you do spend on the mountain that much more enjoyable

in the words of the GZA, you need to diversify yo bonds.

skiings the best - no doubt - but you should look to other alternatives when you cant ski to get the high.

heres one I wish I knew in school: running. I never ran until my mid twenties, but now its such a great tool to go explore your neighborhood and get a work out that feels really good, while youre doing it and after. to be honest, I'd take a rip of weed stepping out the door, turn on strava, and get lost running, with some good tunes in the headphones.

there are plenty of others.
