The Orage Capital Huck and Chuck is happening this Saturday at Fortune. Over $4000 in Cash and Prizes with at least $1000 of that being cash! The contest is Sat Feb.15th (this Saturday) on Slalom at Camp Fortune. Registration is in the main lodge at 9:30 AM and it's $25, all entry fees are being rolled back into prizing. There's two catagories under 16 and over. If you're under 16 you can compete in the older class if you want (better prizes!). Inverts are allowed and helmets are mandatory. Any questions you can e-mail me at mogulmike@thebear.fm, it's going to be a sick event with lots of prizes and live dj's.

In the past fortune (under the supervision of Mike Crichton) has made small but really nice jumps for their comps. The ev comp was really bad partly because it was -20 on that day and also there was no snow to make the jump. I'm sure fortune will do a much better job and by looking at the prize money it should be well worth your while to compete.
And fortune is about 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa

It is going to be a great event, Fortune has more snow than anybody in the region. We have a jump designer from Orage partnering up with Mike Crichton and a fortune groomer to ensure that nice hit and you can expect it to be big!

probably about 30 ft. there'll be a 10-15 footer too for the little tikes.
Dave Crichton and Garrett Brittain are two of the judges as well.

Steve, that jump was frustrating mostly because snowboarders had a sweet jump only a week before (maybe two), but they plowed it over as soon as that comp was done.

unfortunately i'm not going to be there for this one, i'm off to north carolina for reading week to do some mid winter windsurfing. But now i'm hearing that the jump is going to be 50 feet! A 50 foot jump at camp fortune is unheard of so i'd really like to hit it. Oh well, maybe next time.

50 feet at least. If we get to play with enough snow for a good table and landing, I'd like to make it 60 feet. Don't worry, it won't be anything like the Edelweiss jump a few weeks ago. That one was _supposed_ to be good, until they switched the site to a run with dirt and rocks sticking out...

What kind of skis are they, and how do you win them. I think mine are about done.

Their Line and Volkl skis and all you have to do is entre the contest to have a shot at winning them. Their drawn as door prizes. Everybody that enters the contest is elegible to win door prizes and there's some pretty good stuff. Keep in mind that the entry fee is $25 but that includes your lift ticket for the day so even if you don't think you have a chance at winning it's still cheaper to compete than it is to just buy a ticket and you'll have a chance at drawing some great prizes!

Is the entry fee the same for those who already have passes?

Yo, I'm thinking about entering, and I don't even know how to ski. Can I pay the $25 to get lift passes and door prizes and not hit the 60ft jump?
