Skiing (specifically the heart of it) has going downhill recently, but I believe its a cycle.

IHatePedophilesHoly fuck things have gotten crowded. Mammoth is my local and it NEVER used to be this crowded. It used to only get maxed out on the holidays but now every weekend parking pretty much goes down to the base of the entire mountain and lines are long as FUCK. Despite Alterra buying out McCoy a number of years ago I dont really think anything has gotten worse besides the crowds. Mammoths Unbound still has big fucking features and South Park has remained Jibbier (kind of like park city) Something I have noticed is Alterra as well as Vail have been fucking up numerous parks across the country, capitalizing off of the family style dynamic and fucking over the people who ski because they REALLY love it.

Skiing has BLOWN up in the last 2-4 years. I believe the swell in skiing is due to the pandemic as well as other factors such as the IKON pass. I mainly believe its mainly due to the pandemic as well as the fact history repeats itself. People are feeling anxious and want to get the fuck out of there hometown and travel to the closest mountain, fucking up parking, lines, and the overall stoke because they are clowns.

The main reason I wanted the create this thread is to display my opinion (or theory) that skiing is just going to get better in these 3-6 years. When the snow sport we now know as skiing first came to be, it was very euro. A lot of families started engaging in this new sport. The skiing economy was starting and it was starting well.

Then what happened.... Fucking snowboarders. Those drug smoking hooligans took over the hills with there devious, menacing, hoodish acts. Snowboarding was really the start of the skater park type shit. Park began to take off. Over the years of 2010-2017 we saw a strong decline of tourist style skiers, park was fucking still going strong and companies were still innovating doing hood shit. I believe we are to repeat this cycle relatively soon. I think that snow sports overall are going to begin to die off in a few years. When I say that I am talking about the touristy part. I think a lot of tourists are going to go and start some new tourist shit as they did before.

What I am saying is I think were in the worst part of this reoccurring cycle. I think its going to get better soon. also, I think a lot of you should stop complaining and do something about it as bitchin never got anyone anywhere. Lets start a fund raiser to build the fattest jibbiest park around.

LemuelI think the real solution is to get some of these abandoned ski areas up and running again. Easier said than done, but maybe if the corporate bozo’s did that instead of overcrowding their fleet they would be respected.

im glad I have a hill in my backyard. Never lines there.
