Would using a mouthguard be a good idea?

This fucking thread is burned in my head, I'm terrified of that happening to me. I dislocate my shoulder almost daily and have broken a few bones but this seems horrible. I ordered some cheap mouth guard off of Amazon to hopefully prevent this somewhat, does anyone else wear a mouth guard while skiing? I have personally never seen someone do it, so maybe I'll be the Curry of park skiing with my mouth guard.

I used to wear a mouthguard when skiing in the park. Teeth are expensive, there is no sense ruining them. There are also studies that suggest that mouthguards reduce the incidence rate/severity of concussions in contact sports. So, there's the potential for that benefit as well.

youve definitely been skiing around poeple that have a mouthguard in, you just havent noticed, look through threads about mouthguards lots of us at least have one, maybe not wear it all the time. it is definitly a bit annoying but the one time it saves your teeth/tongue youll be happy. I dont wear mine nearly as much as I should

Wearing one won’t hurt you, and may save you from screwing up your teeth and tongue, go for it, it has no downsides

Yeah man losing teeth sucks. Takes forever to get them fixed and it’s super expensive. Mouth guards are also great for preventing concussions

I wear one when I want to try stuff on jumps. Feels a bit overkill for just cruising around but it's reassuring to have one in.

Highly recommend a Sisu. Molds super well to your teeth with just hot water. Crazy good fitment, makes it very comfortable.

I used to see a lot of the competition slopestyle skiers riding with a mouth guard for heavy landings off big jumps. I don’t feel like you see it so much anymore, maybe jumps have got better designed so landings aren’t as heavy or they just went out of style, (because style before safety, right?)
