I sealed a few core shots with marine epoxy and then used a hot waxing iron to melt ptex on top of it. The epoxy liquified and mixed with the ptex. The result is way stronger than ptex (and sticks to the edges) but also a better texture (and wax retention) than epoxy.
I took a similar repairing adventure a month ago after clipping a shark in the shallows that buckled my edge pretty good. I don’t have a finished pic but my ptex job is far from pretty. Gets the job done!
Got tired of epoxying/ptexing after literally everytime i skied them and resorted to just dumping on the wax. The other ski has the exact same damage and theyre now demounted wall art skis
