TheMadLad7I really have no idea what to look for, but I am interested in trying to make a ski film just for fun. One of my friend suggested a old Sony hand cam, but he doesn't ski often. Are the ones that they use in August Light insanely expensive?
vorpal-snowOld hand cam will do a banger fs. Especially fish eye and low down shots by a rail. Retro cams are actually mad spensive but anything digital could be cropped to 4:3 for the August Light look. I think they definitely had something digital w/ at least 60 fps because it's so damn smooth. Such a sick film.
WoFlowzDVX for SD and HPX for “HD”
Christian_BaleI got a DVX recently and I would highly recommend it. I think the GL2 is another good alternative that doesn't break the bank

TheMadLad7Is it easy on the GL2 to import it to your computer.

Jemsgl2 is an alternative that will get you clowned by elitists
Christian_BaleI've never heard that before, but then again I don't really know much about cameras. Why don't the elitists like the GL2?
