Knocked the fuck out.

Got knocked out today, feeling like you woke up from a long dream after is the fuckiest feeling. Stood up and was like wtf, I'm forgetting something like damn. Was going for B6 out of cannon and after the initial 360 just ended up corked as fuck, almost landed cork 6 but caught edge on 540, sent to flat. Some boarders thought I died lol.

I remember 1 story a guy fell off a cliff and he had this dream that started right as he fell and he was fine. he got married lived the rest of his life and shit then woke up again at the bottom pretty fucked and I believe it honestly. I just don't remember my dream but I know it wasn't fast it was complicated and strange, I lied unconscious for only about 5 seconds so I couldn't really recall it.

Does anyone on here have any stories stories of being knocked out and just having insane dreams.

Never been knocked out skiing but I slipped on my hardwood floors and knocked myself out for a few minutes, just woke up and said owch

I didn't get knocked out but I got choked out, and was conked for like 5 seconds. So weird felt like i was awake and had a conversation with someone, but really I was just lying on the floor on someone's lap

Ive been knocked out in a car wreck and i don’t remember the wreck at all. All I remember is driving on a straight country road then just feeling like I woke up from a long nap and staring right into like 3 firemen’s face. Freaked me out for a bit, pretty trippy! It felt like I was asleep for like 8 hours but really it was more 2 - 5 minutes

It was in the morning and I'm feeling much better now, I just hung out in a dark corner of the patrol hut all day.

It was a pretty minor knock tbh, should be good. Was quite responsive after and spent all day in darkness. I know you're lookin out for my wellbeing and I appreciate it, and yeah your right. I'm being careful with it I assure you.

Prolly take a small break from anything whete you could hit your head again though. Def don't want to get another knock right after.

Dude yeah I hit my head once knocked out and had a wild dream and my friends said I was screaming and saying a bunch of random stuff. Then my vision for the next hour was super fuzzy it was scary

once. we drove to Sunday River on a pow day and the power was out.
then we found some kids who built a kicker. It was kinda all time. until I crashed in great pow, but slammed my noggin inside my shitty loose helmet. I was out for like 2 min. then wasn't in control for the next 20-30 min. I thought it was a moment though it was way longer. I guess I made weird noises then talked a bunch of shit.
then my buddy drove us to Attitrash. and we skied a bit more. But it/I was kinda fucked up.

Got knocked out for about a minute a week and a half ago. Feeling pretty good now. Still haven’t been on skis since then.

I got a concussion the day before my birthday while skiing and it was similar to your story. I don't remember what happened, all I remember is being at the ski resort, then I blinked and I was in a hospital bed. My friends said they found me at the bottom of a landing passed tf out. The best part is I woke up, had a full-on conversation with ski patrol, then put my skis back on and skied to the bottom. And I don't remember a drop of it. We talked to the ski patrol again when we got to the bottom because I kept repeating myself and they sent me to the hospital. I don't even remember riding in the ambulance. Lesson learned kids, wear a helmet :3

I knocked myself out slightly yesterday, I was going for a straight air off a large jump, fucked up the landing, and then I opened my eyes and I was in a snowdrift about 10 metres away from where I landed. It was only for a few seconds but weird anyway.

Was completely out one night after a seizure and don’t remember any of it other than walking down the street and next thing I know it’s like I just woke up and cops were pretty aggressively yelling at me to call someone and get me. They thought I was fucked up but it was just a seizure from brain trauma.

When I came to, my phone was already in my hand and I was aimlessly scrolling my contacts calling people I hadn’t even talked to in years babbling incoherently. I was trying to form sentences and it just wasn’t working. Took me almost 24 hours to be “with it” again.


Been knocked out playing hockey and it was very similar. Just felt like I woke up out of nowhere with a bunch of people in my face. One of the most startling feelings for sure.

Need to know if you had a helmet on? Reading through this thread has me shaken up a bit and I’m scared I’ll be next. But seems like most people getting knocked out didn’t have helmets. Need to know if having a helmet on will save me from what happened to you

If you have a helmet on you can still get a concussion. It just takes your brain to suddenly smash against the inside of your skull, so any big hit will do that. Helmets just reduce how bad it is and help protect your actual skull and (mips only) your neck to a degree. Helmets don't always prevent concussions, only reduce their severity.

no one said this yet, but you should pick up a new bucket.

mips or not, those things are only really designed to take one big hit. each slam compresses some of the foam and reduces the ability to decelerate your skull.

also a mouth guard can help beat concussions. atleats the sort where your jaw smashes into your top set of teeth.

in a sense concussions are better than other injuries cause usually you dont remember exactly how it happened. but on the other hand they can be the debilitating and hardest to recover from.

I’ve been choked out before and the guy let me drop and I hit my head on a tile floor like a sack of potatoes. It felt like I was in a dream or waking up from a dream. Weird how consciousness slowly comes back.

Hey now, I was on the wrestling team as a youngun. Older guys used to put us in chokeholds all the time. Kinda the hazing. This one time I didn’t fight back and keep my airway clear and the guy wasn’t very good at chokeholds.

I wasn’t just being an asshole lol

Been knocked out numerous times skiing/skating. Like everyone said above, avoid booze for a bit, minimize screen time, get a new lid if you were wearing one (for structural integrity purposes/next time you smack your head) and ease back into skiing. Don't try to get back to any spins in the air or off features for a few weeks, your equilibrium can stay off kilter for a bit after brain injuries like that. I had a bad one from a large jump overshoot, and tried getting back to corked out spins too quickly (within the week), and lost it in the air, almost knocked myself out again. Don't push it.

fair. sounds awful though, getting choked out by someone. i prefer to create my own danger and risks to my health
