Yup. Had an amazing day and got some good clips so ima call it a season 🤝 abay is open for a few more weeks but I’m not sure if I even care to go anymore. I’ve been ready for summer since like January lol
Ended my season at 75 amazing days. I think it's a record, it was definitely a crazy progressive season for me. My body is so ready for 5 months of rehab

I'll probably go to MJ next weekend cuz I got nothing better to do. But yeah, I'm itching to get back on my bike again and to play some golf. I wish I got to other places this winter to ski but I'm content with my CO experience so far. This season was all about getting adjusted.
No clue how many days my season was but I did way more jump tricks and bigger rails than last year. I was glad to be done with skiing this year haha I don’t think too much about it while I’m doing it but park skiing is scary and I need to relax for a while.
going to have a chill summer of blading and fishing with some local travel. International travel is a pain in the ass and I’m looking forward to driving around interior BC and the west coast
Probably the best late season conditions and snow coverage I've seen in Colorado since I moved out here. Just wish there was some more park stuff set up.
Shit this expired but press them about accommodation. That shit gets mad competitive especially now. I got thredbo job offer but went to Charlotte pass since they had room and board. Charlotte pass oversnow leaves from perisher base area.
Send me a message and you can even cite me or my buddy as a former employee Rec if you want to go Charlotte Pass route.
timdrachanI got a job as a lifty at perisher australia this summer, but they didnt mention anything abt staff accomidation. pay is decent but i am a struggling student and I could swing it but i was looking for more of a money buffer.
the offer expires wednesday so i gotta do some serious research to see if i wanna ditch everything to ski in straya for a couple months.
who got recent perisher experience?

got roasted by my HR homie for still asking for free tickets from work. He's like "I'm just shocked you're still doing it dude, don't you have anything else better to do?" Fuck no. Its memorial day weekend and lifts are still going.
I have an idea. Beer League Freeski/Freeride events for old dudes. Racing has them. My dad raced when he was 40 and won the championship with his team "The Spin Doctors".

Right!
They have stuff for the kids but nothing for us Big Kids!

just join the racing beer league. Wish my home mountain would bring back the race beet league. Having a beer league that is based on the opinions of judges just seems annoying.
SlowbroI just want beer league airbag sessions. Impossible to get on a bag anywhere near me
There used to be this company called US Airbag or something that would bring it's airbags around from resort to resort each year. For some reason they would always stop at my crummy ohio hill. This was like 12 years ago though, never seen one open to the public anywhere near me since then. Tons of fun

That's basically exactly what I want. I don't want to shell out 1500 to go to maximise or momentum just to get on a bag haha

yeah It was really convenient, they charged 60$ or something to be able to hit it for a few hours, and that was really fun about once a year. Holy smokes I did not know maximise was like that, that's a shame. It's such a nice facility

yea unfortunately no australia this year, engineering internship came through and I could not say no to it.
thats a super nice offer though to use you as a reference, I appreciate it!
Only chance to ski now will be at Akamp, which kinda sucks cuz i was looking forward to ski the whole summer.
Bird closing day was super fun, sucks they decided to close with plenty of snow left for at least another few weekends to start running summer ops on June 15th.
Love everyone who runs the mountain, hate everyone who made the decision to kill ski season early.

Yeah dude. The worst part is the lifties and patrollers still love it and want it. At least I would. Our closing day was April 1st at work.

Love the lifties and cat drivers and bartenders and most of the patrollers. Absolutely despise the POWDR corp money squeezers and anybody that ever buys a fast pass.
The influence that epic planks, specifically the vaporizer (the rockered ski with the Rasta gradient base that Zahner rode), doesn’t really get the acknowledgment it deserves for progressing park ski designs. Obviously the brand name would’ve never stood the test of time and the owner went on to destroy his reputation with Revision, but the ski itself is what many modern park skis today resemble. Noticeably rockered tip and tail, symmetrical or pretty close, around 90 underfoot.
At the time people clowned on the shape and said that the rockered tail would be a nightmare for acls. The coolest shape at the time seemed to be the edollo with a stiff cambered tail and wider platform underfoot, which revision (and plenty of other brands) went on to essentially copy. Surface is also worth mentioning from that era but they never had a pure park ski with extreme rocker, just all mountain/powder skis that people ended up using in the park. The armada alpha was similar too but had a noticeably more conservative rocker profile comparatively.
Vishnu wets, faction studio 1, movement fly 90, armada bdog, Icelantic nomad 95 (and jet skis), misfit skis, Völkl revolt 95/96, sego bighorn, mango 90, etc. Obviously all of these skis came about in different ways and drew inspiration from a variety of sources but they all somewhat resemble the thesis put forward by epic planks well over a decade ago. Rockered, relatively skinny park skis are fun but ~12 years ago the zeitgeist wasn’t ready for them whereas now they seem to be the standard for many park skiers.
Photo for reference, thank god the galaxy print era is behind us.

Much like Powdr/Alterra/VR, I can see the privately-owned Indy Pass resorts suffering the same fate. My workplace in the winter has changed ownership more than 3 times since their incarnation in 1995 and things don't seem much better. Every departments budget was slashed mid-season alongside hours being cut because the new owners from St. Louis just want it to be a free playground for their kids and families. Squeezing money and mismanagement will be the downfall of the industry.
Whats super funny is half of my work crew this winter including my boss all worked there in seasons-prior and worked their ways up into lower to mid management and hated their lives so much that mowing grass sounded better. Its sad.

SlowbroBlue Steeles and Moment Reno Rockers were like that in like 2009
Both very good points. Also the Salomon twenty twelve was around at that time. Reconsidering it, filthy riches probably deserve much more credit for popularizing that style of ski
JalmarKalmarYou know that park skiing exists outside of the US?
With the amout of belts they have dropped everyone who have wanted one has been able to buy one.
I don't think you get my point here... the shipping is a lot more expensive than it used to be, Harlaut isn't an American-based company and yet it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to ship? People can obviously still get belts but the problem is unless youcan somehow justify spending like 80 bucks on a single belt then it's just ridiculous

How much is the shipping then?
Euro shipping was cheaper than it used to be. I paid like 25 euros few years ago for shipping from nordic country to other nordic country.
And I was pointing out that Capeesh doesn't need The Us buyers that much.
