BallClapperI might be cooked. Fried my skis, brought another set into the shop to get mounted and they don't want to. (two previous mounts and will be "too close together.") The ski is a sender free 110. What similar skis are there? I like it because you can ski it lazy and do silly butters but also boogie through shitty snow. Suspension is very good too. Thinking revolt 114 but that seems like a ski you need to be flying on all the time and has no chill. Was planning on picking up a sf100 for park/ skinny. Might not happen now. In Washington so can get away with a ~110 daily. Any help or advice would be appreciated. (I did try some on3p jeffery and did not like them, too soft and didn't track well in moguls/ chop. Was also way too short for me.) I do like a heavy ski 2200+
you can remount them yourself it's not super hard as long as you take your time. i would do that to get through the rest of the season and then buy new ones in the spring when they're cheaper

Saw a dude probably in his mid 50s with straight skis and a purple/black one piece from the 80s (not the neon bright ones) ripping mogul lines and doing helicopters with perfect form of cat tracks today. Sad I'll never be that cool but I'm glad he exists.

got 3 days with some new friends and also bumped into a couple groups of friends from way far away by accident on two of the days. didnt really ski that good but vibes where all time and its the homies that matter not the skiing ❤️❤️
Sidas ones, but I'm thinking they might be the issue. Gonna try to stock Dalbello ones just to see if there's a difference. I also have one specific toe go numb after skiing for a couple hours that has happened across multiple boots. Also wondering if it's those footbeds.

Not a bad place to start unless the boot fits like trash without em. In the past I've had bottom of foot pain from my arch being supported after wearing nothing but flipflops for a summer lol

Funny you say that because I also rarely wear shoes with arch support and have high arch footbeds.

I've remounted my skis myself without a template. Just use the old screw holes for reference and move everything equally back/forward a little bit. You can epoxy the old holes.

I brought my (former demo) Season Formas and thought I'd be the cool unique guy with the mysterious black swallowtails, but no, the largest ski shop in town demos the whole Season lineup. You think Moment is a niche American company that only guys in Reno and SLC know about? Nope they demo them in Japan. Icelantic? Why even ask, it's a dime a dozen. Plus just about everyone else seems to be on Bent 110s or similar twin tips.
It's lame that 90% of the people here are on rented gear, but I'm glad they're riding something good for a change.

I just rewatched Glen Plake and Mike Hattrup's movie Sno What and it brought back a flood of memories of this exact skiing! Might have to break out my straight skis and one-piece and have at it.

still not skiing, starting to get real antsy. injury feeling better but still seems like it needs another week or so. really want to be good for spring so being cautious. getting new skis doesn’t help lol

From where I sit, it seems like it started off the way you are positioning it. However, bad actors and these law firms blowing everything up with ads and calls to actions have changed this. Just like how these roofing companies charging insurance companies and doing a shit ton of roofs on the front range has, also, changed the insurance landscape in CO.

Also those cases where someone dies and the family sues for millions usually don't hold up in court at all. Sometimes they do depending on the circumstance, a lot of the time its because the person who died was the primary earner in a family and without them the family is missing out on an entire income for the rest of their lives, and not everyone wants to re-marry just to make ends meet. There's definitely ambulance chasers out there but I think it's just super overblown and moreso about people who can't afford accidents getting in accidents
Well first off, your scaling should be at 100%. But can you try another shop? Luckily, I’m on the front range so have a ton of mounting options. I drive all the way to Golden to go to a shop I trust because I know what to expect and I know they won’t beat me over the head about spacing or more than 3 mounts unless items truly fucked.

Try other footbeds. They fit differently. I just switched from green superfeet to Sole cork thin high arch and yeah, I can feel it.

We're having the best seasson in the NE in about the last decade. Glad i picked this season to buy new gear after being a little bitch for the past 8 years.

However, bad actors and these law firms blowing everything up with ads and calls to actions have changed this. Just like how these roofing companies charging insurance companies and doing a shit ton of roofs on the front range has, also, changed the insurance landscape in CO.
I used to work in commercial hail damage claims for roofing and can confirm the amount of shady public adjusters and blatant fraud claims is high for buildings. It’s a huge mess for a lot of reasons.
My buddy works for one of these companies selling roofs and I’m like “damn dude. You’re getting paid well but at the expense of the entire industry due to exploitation”. I haven’t told him this but like.. not a fan at all of his new career path lol Like its no wonder premiums are going up and companies are leaving the state

Snow's really good, but the crowds are here too so it gets tracked fast. It seems like they just get 4 tiny storms every day here so it's a constant refresh. I haven't seen much in the way of pristine bottomless powder, but lots of good windblown patches and soft chop all day
Japanese resorts are weird though. They're super risk averse and rope off most of their trees, so you either have to duck ropes or hike to a backcountry gate to ski most of the powder.
Instead of paying out the ass for a new set of touring skis with proform, would it be a realistic option to remount my '17-18 4FRNT Ravens with my Kingpin 13s that have been laying around for over a year? It would be the third mount (Had Guardians on them, Remounted them with STH2 16 WTRs, this would be the 3rd iteration.)
And would 185cm precut skins from 4FRNT work or should I just cut new ones?

According to my work friends, Steamboat allegedly had a snow submersion fatality this week as well. WP had one too a few weeks ago. It's sad but shit happens when you get separated and combined with crazy storm cycles, it's important to ski with a buddy. I thought about that today seeing as I was skiing deep stuff on Wednesday solo and that like if I get stuck, I'm pretty fucked if no one stumbles upon me.
People also need to think about how traumatic and hard it is for the first responders/SAR/Patrollers/Search Parties that get dispatched to missing persons calls too. My assistant director was telling me stories about how his buddy back in the day at WP went missing and unfortunately passed away from snow freezing in his throat causing him to aspirate. He said that him and other search parties literally skied past him multiple times before someone saw something. Just absolutely tragic shit.

theres also a missing guy on vail mountain for a week now which is likely a snow submersion as well. it was heavy on my mind today as i skied. i turned on the app tracker just so that if i was missing, my body could be recovered. i was also thinking about how shitty the ‘no friends on a powder day’ motto actually is from a safety standpoint.

Snow asphyxiation is the official term. Basically you can get snow in your throat and from the O2 exchange and respirations, snow can freeze in your throat causing an airway obstruction, which can lead to respiratory distress and failure if you're not found in enough time.

It can happen if you fall in deep powder and aren't fit enough to get back upright. Think of your head downhill and your skis preventing you from moving your legs back around. An older guy died like that at mammoth a few years ago, just barely off a groomer

Pain and Suffering I would assume. It happened 2 years ago. Which yeah it sucks and I'm sorry for the Widow, but this isn't an issue of lack of safety or response times at all. People really do need to understand the "assumption of risk" part when you buy a pass.
But then again resorts are all ran by lawyers and asset & liability protection is the name of the game because insurance policies are not cheap.

my binding ripped out of my kartel 108 in the backcountry today and I need new freeride skis by Thursday. Does anyone have any leads on where I can buy some 184 Reckoner 112s or sender free 110s for super cheap?
