just secured tickets for the olympics, going to see women's big air qual, men's halfpipe qual, men's skicross, and men's and women's snowboard slopestyle finals. Would have really loved to get ski slopestyle tickets, but just very pleased that i can go and see these events
funny enough i am more comfortable doing right 1s but left is way more natural for 3 and 5
I've thought about this before, I think because 1 is such a small rotation most of us are already so used to spinning half of that rightside to get on/off rails, so setting up for a rightside 1 kinda feels like an extension of hitting rails
GrandThingsHoly shit my GF and I got tickets to Freestyle Ski finals at next years Winter Olympics.
I can't wait to yell at comp riders and their coaches in the middle of the Italian alps about not being "core" enough.
I've never been to a real skiing event ever (other than a few small/local rail jams) so any advice is very appreciated!
So much more fun in person. Just show up and be stoked. Everyone there is having a great time.
Used to go to the Visa Freestyle World Cups at Deer Valley and all the Grand Prixs at PC. My mom volunteered for the FIS World Championships at PC the season before the 2014 games and it was fun seeing all of (at that time) the top pros wandering about and skiing around. Major ski events are the shit
Win or lose, it's worth the exp, but I got an invite to tryout for Copper Patrol in March. Waiting to see when WP's is. I really don't want to tell anyone at work.

Goretex_VidalStaying in Burlington next week and trying to decide between MRG or Sugarbush next Tuesday after Indy days at Jay and Bolton Valley.
as someone who knows both MRG and sugarbush very well, i cannot recommend MRG enough. everything about it is better, with the caveat that you're an advanced skier who likes to shred. sugarbush is good but experience is just mid with ikon and all.

im not one to focus on the actual filming of the clips, but choosing a good song and making the edit flow with it can really elevate iphone clips. use it to tell a story

yeah i get that. they don't. sometimes we'll put up some rails on the freeski team when it's really shitty skiing but haven't had to do that this year haha. still not a park though.
theres hella natural hits on the mountain, and we'll build jumps too. if the conditions are right, you could easily link up 5 or 6 flippable hits in one run, which is very unique on the east. tons of cliffs too.
if you are ever here for some reason (i mean sugarbush has a great park) a day at mrg would be worth it, if you're a jumps guy. although i get it if you're not. if you only like rails, then it's not the place for you. which is too bad!

Actually unsure what events specifically - our tickets just say "Freestyle Skiing - Category A: Monday, February 9th, 2026" maybe because the actual events times haven't been scheduled? Best case, Big Air. Worst case Aerials? I think I kinda have to ski at Livigno while I'm there too right? I only know it from Traveling Circus lol but it looks amazing lol.
We also got tickets to one of the hockey games which is in Milan, don't think it's guaranteed to be USA which is a bummer but will be a cool experience regardless.
I'm not much of a traveler and have only been to Europe once, so it's definitely going to be a lot for me, but I'm really excited.

partyandBSboise, slc, denver, etc. have all been exploding with people post covid
for real. every year i visit family in CO i'm shocked by how many people are on hill, like you're not even safe on a random tuesday at beaver creek anymore. at this point it would take a major economic catastrophe for me to move back there
strained my lower back last month due to weakness from a knee injury last season. Finally took some time of skiing and got back on PT, feeling good for the first time in honestly 9 months.
No knee pain, no back pain, one more week of PT and we are so back.
Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, and Maine have way more skiing above the treeline than I thought. I guess technically Loaf is the only resort that has life-serviced terrain that high up, but I did not realize how many other resorts had terrain that you can hike to that is above the treeline
