Trying to find an edit that was posted her a while ago. It’s some dude or a crew shredding Australia, jibbing rocks, general shenanigans. Only had a few thousand views I think. Came out fairly recently give or take six months ago

usually i’m ok at em but this time not. straight up worst case scenario fall lol. i’m feeling better this morning just sore and going to need a few days off
BradFiAusNzCoCaBrb gonna go verbally harass this guy in his DMs for this one
GayWolf420Fuck no. Them shits need to be in the ballpark of $75-90 considering they're from the Mid 2000s. This douche "knows what he has" and is just trying to play us all. Very disrespectful to our holy culture.

I’ve got some of these that I will sell for a lot less than that cause they’re genuinely unsafe lol
i recently found out steepsteep could cork 7 at 13 and only resorted to steep videos and goofy ass dope stuff when he got seriously injured and stopped park for like 10 years
SteezyYeeterpreface this with i do not hate steep steep. i've defended him in the past, and although i don't like his content that much anymore, he is a chill guy.
however, he is just a bad skier. not talking about his park capabilities here, they're better than mine. just him skiing. he skis very poorly, like a young child. especially the way he pole plants... the worst thing is he used to be a racer. i don't know i just find it very odd, and this is only really prevalent when hes trying to carve down a steep slope, etc. he's obviously very comfortable on skis and carries himself around well, the form is just not it when it's put to the test.
totally random just been on my mind for a few months whenever i see it. again, great guy. wish him well.
BalloonsHow did the newschool founders fudge the trick names so badly?
Switch should be called fakie. End of story.
And unnatural should be called switch.
Fakie is for skateboarding. Skiers ski switch
Unnat is weird though. Anyone that's good enough to be in ski media should be spinning both ways well enough for it not to matter
Lenny-Would've been cool if skiing backwards was called "dirty".
There was a thread like 10 years ago trying to get people to call it "riding dirty", I still frequently try to convince people that it would be better, hasn't caught on yet.

Weird influx of new accounts poorly trolling. Half of this site is just politics. Lowkey makes me sad cause it’s leaking into all the other aspects of ns and making everything jaded
watching the msu rail jam from the spectators perspective does not sit well with me. Might have caused me to catch my 2nd wind and push my skiing harder
National Ski Patrol can eat a fucking dick and so can their instructors who volunteer only like 12 days/season. Their "Challenge" exams for EMTs and other providers is just a bunch of horseshit and despite actually having real life field experience with all the skills, they fail you on critical points because "that's not how I would've done it".

Is NSP only volunteer patrollers?
There is a recruitment sign at my resort that says "try out for ski patrol. No medical experience necessary" which always makes me feel uneasy.

Honestly in a way yeah. But also paid staff, depending on the resorts affiliation with it, are either Paid Pro Candidates or OEC technicians if you complete the course or pass the bridge exam. But yes, Volunteers are not required to have any form of medical training.
It does have some credibility because it has been around since the late 30s (The Army's 10th Mountain Division founded it). But some resorts aren't affiliated for a reason because they have their own protocols on how to do things due to working with local EMS agencies and medical direction at hospitals and receiving facilities. OEC is it's own separate thing much like Wilderness First Aid and they really want it done "their way" as opposed to other ways.
In my opinion, OEC is important but the textbook is just a half-assed version of The Orange Book (EMT-B) and instructors really grill you on some of the most minute and useless "skills" that most of us already learned when we did our Registry Practicals and Exams. NSP is also very Midwest/East Coast focused and some of that shit just doesn't really apply out west. My current director spent 20 years at Loon and is much more worried about lawsuits than medical care.
It's good stuff to learn, don't get me wrong. But if you're wanting to Patrol, just take an EMT course because then it'll open doors up for other medical jobs should you want to go do anything else.

I rode with a lady today who was told when first learning 180s "spinning right is more fun" so that's why she does them that way. I have never heard a take like that before lmao. I will say I've been really enjoying pushing myself by working on right (unnat) 3s and 5s and doing unnat rail tricks.

more fun is an interesting take lol
funny enough i am more comfortable doing right 1s but left is way more natural for 3 and 5
stomped the fuck out of broom closet today at Snowbird and I am just super amped up overall on skiing today. Feeling strong, feeling happy, can't wait to go ski again tomorrow!
TOAST.Same, think I like right 1s better because Im more comfortable looking over my left shoulder when skiing switch.
this is exactly how i am except the opposite. it winds up translating into my left 1s, 3s and 5s because it makes it easier to grab trailing. whenever i rodeo, cork, sw spin, and sw misty i spin to the right because it is my comfy way
