Hunter Mountain/empire terrain parks

Prince_PolloHow is hunter mountain in terms of terrain parks and lift lines. Is it worth my 3 hour drive or should I just stick to my local mountain where I have a season pass.

Go during the week and you’ll see hardly any lift lines. Weekends are jam packed with city slickers. The terrain park isn’t what it used to be. But they do have one. About 8 small/medium rails/boxes and one kicker. Vails not letting the park crew build much for some unknown reason.

I’d send it tho, I do 2 hours all the time for Hunter. They’ve got a lot of great snow right now, and pretty much all the trails open. All the killer side hits make up for the missing park.

What did vail not ruin?

I've only skied hunter once and it was mid week no one was there and off the backside I think theres some pretty legit terrain and tree skiing too. I was impressed just bc it gets a bad rap on the EC

I have a place near hunter and am up there most of the winter whenever we don't go to VT when we don't feel like it. The parks this year, 21,22 are complete crap. The first park this year which is a small popup was made January, which is very late, but credit the shit weather they've been having in December and early January. Last years park was also pretty bad, but they had top to bottom features on park ave, with one small jump. It's worth going to if you like a small park with no crew. Hopefully next year they improve there shit, but I doubt it. Windham which is 30-40 mins away already has all there parks up and running with plentiful features and jumps, but isn't with epic. Seems like a pattern is emerging, vail hates park and is slowly shitting on some of the best VT parks, like carinthia. Before the vail and covid mess, they had creativy in there parks, but now they're really just features on snow, no coolness. Idk, just my opinion, but bottom line go to Windham for parks instead of hunter empire.
