Solution for broken Marker brakes?

Just snapped another pair of marker brakes, making this like the 6th set I've gone through. It seems like the plastic holding the two brakes together is pretty fragile, so it snaps easily when the metal part digs into the snow. Has anyone come up with a solution to prevent them from breaking as easily? I was thinking of bending the metal parts of the brake on top of the ski, but that obviously would prevent the brakes from working like they should. Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated

what brake width? what skis? are your binding forward & toe set correct?
on say a 95 parkski, run the 90 brake, it will tuck way in on the ski, you need to be pretty much out of binding for them to dig in
All times are Eastern (-5)
