Lots of you have followed Sander Hadley.. if you have seen videos of him you’ve probably seen him riding around pebble creek. This year for some reason they’ve decided not to set up a park despite locals asking multiple times for features to be set up. Any of you ever had this happen with your local hill? Anyway to motivate um to set at least a feature or two up or would it not go over well? Lmk

Gnar_Shralp406Park takes a park crew and they may just not have one. I know a lotta places are struggling with staffing issues.
fellow pebble creeker here; i hate to bitch but here it goes.
you dont need a park crew if people are willing to volunteer.
i get maintaining a jump with rakes, salt, the snowcat, etc.
but damn, setup some rails and leave a rake out, we'll take care of it. hell, ill even bring my own shovel or rake. Guys in the past have made some pretty decent features, but its pretty lame these days.
I love the terrain, vibes, and mountain... but the management is ass. our season passes dont even scan on the scanner lol
Instead of bitching about not having a park, go ski. Park isnt skiing. Pebble creek has sick terrain, go ski some chutes or coulouirs , air off cat tracks, rip groomers , charge steep terrain. You will find it far more fulfilling than grinding a rail or hitting a lame jump line for hours

what do you think we've been doing dude? you're missing the point here and you obviously didn't read the previous comments with good comprehension.
pure park is not the goal, nor is it realistic.
if it was the goal, I'd be in park city. there's natural little hits and gaps that are already consistently hit. a few rails and a single kicker would be the cherry on top after each run. every other resort has at least some sort of """"terrain park"""". pretty sad we dont.
yea let me go drop into some couloirs on the 18" of base we have ha...
But at any rate, i enjoy pebble and thats why ive kept going back over the past 10 years. Place has just been seriously lacking.
shin-bangand let me name 100s of resorts with parks. targhee, beaver, bogus, the list goes on and on pal. the ratio of parks: no parks is not in your favor

Jackson Hole, Palisades Tahoe, Taos, Revelstoke, Crystal Mountain, Sugarbush, Stowe, Jay Peak, A-Basin, Copper, Telluride, Stevens Pass, Mt. Hood Meadows, Mammoth, Big Sky, and Alyeska all have great terrain and at least one terrain park.

I'm like 95% Freeride, 5% park and this is a wack take. Skiing is skiing. Powder, racing, groomers, chutes, moguls, spring slush, rails, jumps, backcountry, all of it.
I was skiing pebble creek a couple weeks ago and they had a rail just on the ground that I was able to hit from the side. It was pretty cool until I stuck doing a fs and fell into dirt. Anyways I bet the lack of snow has to do with them not building a park yet

There’s a 1’ diameter tube just chilling on the edge of a run with a bunch of fencing around it. I checked it out today and was only dreaming it could be unroped and open for use 😰

what? awful take. a) park is extremely fun and will help you with all those things and b) nowhere in this post do they say they want to exclusively ski park

Not suggesting that they shouldn't have a park, but just saying as a possibility of what can be done at a mtn without a park. This was my home mountain in NY. Never had a park all the years I rode there, would get in trouble for building jumps sometimes.
Anyway, got some donations and welded up some rails. This was from the season I didn't actually work there just worked there. The next year they paid me and we built more stuff. Everything varies. The mountain, what they have, who's running it, if you or any locals have time. But just saying even from some part time volunteer work you can get some things done. Jumps are a different thing, they need constant grooming, but rail setups can be done mostly by hand. The cats don't need to do anything but groom around them and you're in.
That sucks they don't have a park though, def talk to them, just be a human about it. Whether you think they're wrong or whatever, they are going to be far less receptive if you come in hot yelling at them. They may not have a park, or run things the way you like, but they still know a lot more about ski areas than you likely. So come in calm and actually talk to them about the park, the interest. Maybe setting some stuff volunteer if they're unwilling to pay.
As mentioned some places couldn't find people even. So they might have paid spots but just not have had much interest and scrapped the park for the season.
But what about the print on the back of my of my pass that says the resort isn’t liable for personal injury.
never really understood how the resort would still be liable since I signed the agreement when I got the pass. probably more fine print somewhere that I’m missing.

I ski in Ohio and we have more park then you… I would be so upset if I were you. I’m mad for you actually
shin-bangfor a live update on more and more locals pissed off over this: check pebbles last Instagram post and have a laugh at the comments. @pebbleskiarea
I get people complaining about anything and everything on insta pages, i agree that not having a park is bullshit, but people blowing it up on a post thanking the employees is pretty shitty imo.
People can kindly fuck off. I get it. People are amped up, but those mtn employees have nothing to do with them not having a park, are probably overworked and definitely underpaid, maybe let them have their shoutout without going ODB/Kanye and grabbing the mic?
