Krypton 130 with tech inserts

Hello guys. Recently I broke the tongues of my 2013 KR2 pro and started looking for a replacement boot.

The concept of the latest Krypton 130 is quite interesting. With cast on the heavier skis I will be able to make the short laps. It’s like a platform binding + resort boot but without additional weight of platform. At least that’s what I think when look at them.


so are any real users here? How does it walk? What are your use cases (resort/resort+short laps/full day tours)?
any feedback would be great.

Skis just like the old Krypton’s so if you like yours, you’ll like this one. Walks shitty but it’s focused on downhill performance, not uphill efficiency. It’s kinda the same thing as the guys who send their Lange boots to CAST. They suffer uphill to be able to rip downhill.

TLDR; Ski good, tour bad (but that’s what it’s designed for)

fit is the same but it won´t be as damp as the older krypton because of the interchangeable soles, for sure not a big difference but it is noticeable

It walks but not really. The intended purpose of that tech insert in the krypton is for like Chamonix/Verbier/Big Mountain skiers going on very short tours to mountain huts, crossing short glacier flats, or getting to the top of a line and sled/cat skiers getting access to and from their vehicles and to get a bit more access to reach their intended line. You've got like 30 minutes MAX before your feet are dead.

Just got the KR130’s this season, upgraded from 2016 kr pros. Boot has felt great so far, pretty much the same fit except little bit roomier in the toe box - they’ve swapped the liners since my last krypton.

i use the tech inserts with CAST and so far they’ve been fantastic - i was previously using kr pros with daymakers. I’ve never toured with a walk-mode boot and true tech binding so I can’t make a “real” comparison there.
otherwise it’s a killer downhill boot, nice to have some rubber soles too haha.

Just got a new pair. I had the old Krypton and currently have the Lupo as well. It still feels like a stock Krypton and is my favorite in bounds boot. I haven't gone on a super long tour, but so far they've been great. When you're in the flats the Lupo moves much better (and is lighter) but the Krypton still moves pretty well. I figure going forward I'll use the Krypton when I'm using my Casts, and Lupo for long tours with pins.

I would take the Lupo without a doubt if it had a forward lean adjustment. And then I would have the best boot quiver Lupo + Hawx XTD.
