For me the biggest ego boosters are when my friend told me I was a local legend at our resort, when a dad tapped his son and said “wow look at that kid” as I did something going by them, and when I casually did a butter 3 and some kids yelled from the chair lift “that was the steeziest thing I’ve ever seen”. Got to love skiing at a small Midwest hill where doing an Ollie makes kids think your a pro.

Standing on top of a cool but fairly routine line in the cirque at Snowbird called elevator. Basically a straightline through a narrow gap. Some kid and an instructor see me. The kid looks at what I'm about to hit and goes, 'no way!!!'
I just drop and head him go 'oh my god!!'

Lost my lighter at Loon once. Ski over to the top of Sunset (probably the most basic/popular blue trail) to find someone who had one. Go up to this group of guys/girls probably in their early 30s and ask if they have one I can borrow. Girl says yep and I light up my spliff at the top of the trail. One of the guy goes "you gunna smoke that one the way down" which I hadn't really thought of/wasn't planning on but I toss him back the lighter go "yep" and immediately straight-line the whole thing spliff in hand/mouth.

Waiting in the lift line at the bottom and one of them comes up to me and goes "that was the most badass thing I've ever seen"

and I felt great.

I remember it was an epic pow day at Vail years ago with about 12'' of blower fresh and my buddy and I figured we would burn one of our free Vail days on our pass. I stomped a double cliff on the backside cliffs and was riding out and this kid came up and was like, "Wow! That was the coolest thing ever. I hope I can do that someday!". Not going to lie it felt pretty awesome. Then we got into a 5 car pileup on I-70 on the way home...

Blew my knee up right under chair 5 at whitefish. Was a sick drop but there was only 20 feet of run out before it went completely flat. G'd out and sent one of my skis flying nearly to the loading area of the lift. Got a cheer which felt nice

I hit a ~25 ft cliff in front of class of 10 year olds. Right after, my girlfriend at the time, came snowboarding down the powder field next to my air (very gracefully I must admit). I hear the kids exclaim she must be pro and not even acknowledge my feat. It was very funny, and gave her a deserved ego boost
