Tensions heightening between Russia and Ukraine, USA and allies probably gonna step in if Russia makes a move.
What's the likelihood of an actual draft happening?

asparagusWait…is the US not doing anything this time? From my understanding they aren’t doing much for Ukraine, correct me if I’m wrong.

T.L.Just economic sanctions further pushing them into the arms of china.
SSteezleRussia has all the leverage now that Biden shut down the pipeline and we rely on them more than ever for Oil. Russia is attacking, meanwhile Putin is getting more rich as they have all the leverage on oil prices. The sanctions are a small fraction of the amount of money they will be making when they continue to increase oil prices. If more sanctions get put in place, oil gases will continue to rise. Biden's lost all leverage with his decisions in office.
Ukraine should remain independent, not a part of NATO, then Putin is happy, it stops a world war from happening.

LonelyUkraine got denied entry into NATO. Before Putin invaded
SSteezleTrue, I think it's just the idea that someday Ukraine may join NATO. My understanding is that Putin doesn't trust NATO, and fears that NATO will continue to expand eastward, eventually into Ukraine. There was a verbal agreement that NATO would not expand eastward, and they have done just that.
I'm obviously no expert, but here's a quote from the article that talks about the distrust.
"The current confrontation between Russia and the west is fuelled by many grievances, but the greatest is the belief in Moscow that the west tricked the former Soviet Union by breaking promises made at the end of the cold war in 1989-1990 that Nato would not expand to the east. In his now famous 2007 speech to the Munich Security Conference, Vladimir Putin accused the west of forgetting and breaking assurances, leaving international law in ruins.
Does the betrayal claim matter?
It matters desperately to Russia since it fuels distrust, feeds Russia’s cynicism about international law and is the central motive behind Russia’s draft security treaties calling for a reversal of Nato’s extension, due to be discussed on Wednesday at the Nato-Russia Council. The betrayal theory is not confined to Putin, but was supported by Boris Yeltsin, and from mid-1995 right across the Russian political elite."

SuspiciousFishHere are two very important articles to understand why we are in this situation today:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/apr/30/russia-ukraine-war-kiev-conflict
https://moderndiplomacy.eu/2018/06/04/how-and-why-the-u-s-government-perpetrated-the-2014-coup-in-ukraine/
Obama/Biden created this mess when we used the CIA to prop up violent Fascists to overthrow the Ukraine government and Biden brazenly influenced the new Pro-west government. Since the beginning Crimea and Eastern Ukraine were not down on the regime change and wanted to break away from Ukraine which caused the smoldering conflict from 2014 to 2022. Putin is now using this as an opportunity to launch a full scale attack which is IMO insane. People need to understand this conflict started in 2014 and almost everything that is going on now is a result of that.

Monsieur_PatateThe Donbas separatist movement dates back over a century, they've been wanting to break away for a long time, and because such a movement exists does not mean they necessarily represent the opinion of the majority in the region either. (this is not as clear cut as Crimea, different regions, different opinions). Shit, even Quebec has a super strong separatist movement, do you think Putin should invade Canada next to "free" them?
Not sure why you're trying so hard to defend Russia and come up with excuses for them, there's no scenario is which that invasion is justified.
