Atmomic Hawx Ultra 110 S - Memory Fit liner vs my Intuition Pro Wraps

I do have a custom footbed.

The shop did a liner mold but not the Memory Fit shell mold.

One thing I thought was weird was they did not elevate my toes to enforce a forward lean when doing the mold (a different fitter elevated my toes when molding the Intuitions).

Basically, they feel nice and snug when standing straight, but when leaning forward and pulling my foot slightly back, they could be tighter.

just go back and tell them about the fit issues and get the boots molded too???? most boot fitters work on the fit for free for a period of time so take advantage of it

Intuitions and its not even close. Just pop them in your new shells and you're good to go.

Don't get the shells molded. Memory Fit makes boots wider, it doesn't make boots tighter and this is what he is looking for.

OP - if you are getting a tighter fit with the Intuition liner and you want a tighter fit, then go for that..

Put in the Intuitions and they feel a lot tighter, happy with that.

ONK, got another question for ya. Any tricks on adjusting the forward lean to 17 degrees? I am trying as hard as I can to push the cuff forward to the point where I can get the back metal peice to be aligned with the 17 degree mark, but the cuff won’t budge any further forward than 15… maybe this explains why skiing these boots feels like skiing against a brick wall to me, I can’t even flex them forward with my hands…

Should I put the intuitions in this boot, or no, will the stock liner be a "better match" with the shell itself?

Intuitions are significantly denser than the mimic liners. Mimics are pretty comparable to the memoryfit gold you can find in older models. I'd stick with intuition if you've got gaps cause a bootfitter can easily increase space if needed. It's more challenging to reduce space

Oh I’m definitely sticking with the intuitions, had em remolded and the puffed out real nice and filled those little spaces that the stock molded liners didnt. The stock liners were definitely the best I’ve ever experienced for stock, but nothing on $200 aftermarket liners of course

While adjustable forward lean ultimately benefits you, this adjustment can't really be performed by you alone- you'll need a second person, ideally the boot-fitter. You need to be in the boots, buckled up on a medium-tight tension, the second person loosens the screws in the back, you flex forward to 17° & hold the position, and the second person positions the Power Shift piece and tightens down the screws.

This isn't correct. The liners may look similar from the outside but there are huge differences between a 3D (Memory Fit) liner and a Mimic liner. Both have the same foam layup, but that's where the similarities end. The Mimic liner has a reshapable plastic part in the rear foot, a heat moldable plastic tongue and a heat moldable plastic cuff. When this liner goes into the oven you fully reshape the ankle, heel, instep, shin, and calf to your body and it hardens in place providing a very different fit from the one you get out of the box. Not only does this liner match your body more accurately than an Intuition but it will ski far better too.

Now if you need space taken up, a regular Mimic liner can't really help you. It's not designed to achieve that. What most people are used to doing is cramming a much thicker Intuition liner into the shell but this is hardly a great match that properly works with your body & the shell. The better solution is to get a liner that is actually made for you and for your boot, like a Mimic Professional liner. Then you will have a truly custom liner made for the exact space between your foot and the shell.

I should've been more specific in that I was referring to the foam density/layup but yeah. Trust me I know the differences, I fit your boots for a living. If you're curious, only complaint I've had with the Mimics is that there's a seam right on back of the heel that can be irritating
