It seems there is a divide on NS over Gilson Skis. The majority (rightly) believe that Gilson is dope because they do a lot for the community through things like the design contest. There is also a small albeit vocal minority that hates on Gilson for a slew of reasons that vary in validity. Perhaps the most unanimous reason that the name, to some, is just wack.
I propose a solution to fix this problem indefinitely:
Gilson Skis should rebrand to "Elemental Fire Dragon Skis"
This new name is indisputably awesome and cool. I think this is the best possible name for a ski company. We can even make a new Elemental Fire Dragon logo to go with it. @GilsonSkis lmk what you think
