Farmville420It was a warm April afternoon at Carinthia parks. The sky was blue and the snow was soft. Me and my little brother were getting pretty burned out from loping nitro and gulch so we decided to take a prospector lap to mix things up. There I see a man, a tall man, with a helmet white as snow and t shirt that fell below his kneecaps. We chatted for a bit and he handed me some stickers, shaped like the number 33. He began to ski down prospector with us. As I followed him into the first wooden flat bar, I had no idea that my life would never be the same.
He previously had been grinding right foot forward the whole day, but he approached the rail from the left side. I was dumbfounded. Why would a man who grinds right foot forward approach a rail from the complete opposite side that he grinds naturally? This is where the magic happens. As he glides over the lip of the jump, he began to turn in a familiar direction. He spun away from the rail! My jaw dropped. Everything went silent, and all that could be heard was the thud of the man’s skis landing perfectly balanced in the center of the rail, his right foot leading the way. He didn’t bobble, wobble, or slip, he gracefully slid to the end of the rail. This is when the real magic happened.
As he approached the end of the rail, I noticed a slight dip in his front foot. He began to shift his shoulders leftward. In a spectacular fluent motion, he spun three quarters of a full rotation out of the rail. I was stunned beyond belief. What had I just seen? Who is this man? What did he do?
After a few features he stopped and I caught up to him, I asked him what trick he had just performed on the first flat rail. He replied “only trick in the world” and then continued down the hill. I shouted and scrambled to catch up to him, but I caught an edge and tumbled over. Once I had gathered myself I looked down the hill only to realize, the man was gone.
I still don’t know who this man is, or what trick he did, but this moment is one I have cherished since I was a young lad, and will continue to cherish until the day I perish.
Saucemonster69Damn what was the minimum word count for this one?
