skeirmanThat became a tragic comedy after the third female got bodied landing on the exact same rocks the exact same way. Each year it seems like its all half the women's field can do to simply ski down without falling.
I get that it's a comp setting, so maybe they're being a little conservative, but there are a bunch of 18-22 year old girls in little cottonwood who I feel would have cooked that competition and taken 123 based on what I saw out there.
Who decided to throw the kicking horse comp in the middle of the olympics?
In BC we had amazing snowfall over the holidays but the past 5 or so weeks have been a bit of a drought with a number of wind events. Course isn't ideal, but it's skiing better than I expected considering.
Too bad Craig couldn't land that flat 3, it would been a winning run.

130km/h winds just scouring the powder off of Ozone is never ideal.

they should do it on the backside of Ozone next time. Steel and gnarly back there.
North side of Ozone is so good, I love it. BUT, I'm not sure if there's enough line choices for the FWT. Well, at least from my experience it's mostly just rock walled couloirs until it gets close to the fan where there are cliff options.

Skiing in any comp, especially a venue with visual inspection only, is totally different than ripping your home court where you know every rock and twig.
I think that what you are seeing is just the level of women’s competition skiing. You could put any person there and it would end up looking the same.

For real, inspection and planning is half of the game. It’s a skill that takes a while to develop and what separates professional comp skiers from the rest.
She definitely bucks back there and isn't all chute skiing. It is top heavy though. I chatted with the big wigs on the Tour and they think it is too funnelled, pushing everyone into each chute. I think it could go. Euros definitely prefer the wide open runs. I'd like to see venues with different types of terrain that reflect each part of the world, rather than trying to find the same venue at each stop.
