Skin width on BC120 or similar skis - 130mm enough?

what skins do you use on your bc120 and how wide did you buy them? is 130mm wide enough?

I use the same skin that I use for my Vision 108 which works surprisingly good.But if I were to buy a skin I’d probably get a 120mm and use it uncut or a 130(roughly the width of the tail).Skins are a really easy way to save weigh and room in your bag.Also I’d go for the shortest length possible because the tail doesn’t contact the snow because of the rocker and therefore you’d just have unnecessary skin at the back

equal to widest part of the ski so it needs to be at least 142mm, 143mm or 144mm depending on your length

If you want the heaviest skin possible yes but otherwise absolutely no.look at the precut skins of 4frnt Hoji the skin hole has a reason behind it and it’s so you can use a shorter skin

You trim it down to get the best fit/grip. Your suggestion has less grip near the tip but it does save you that extra couple of grams.

You don’t have to have much grip in the tips most important part is underfoot but I guess it’s personal preference in the end

Yeah thanks guys. There should actually be a measurement for the width of the ski at the point where the rocker starts to rise. that's probably the ideal skin-width for wide skis.
