Hey, Summitpunks can fix any of this stuff that i got wrong, but here goes:
So i was skiing a bit at Central today, around 3pm. I noticed that the spine was swarming with ski patrollers, so i went over and had a look. they had a measuring tape out and were spray painting the snow around the landing of the spine. This is what i collected from other people on what happened:
A skier (dont know name) Bombed the spine from the top of the park. The skier hit the spine with considerable speed. The skier cleared the whole 60 feet of the spine. Then cleared another 20 feet. the skier probably got 30 feet above the point from the point where he/she landed at the highest point of the jump. And for all of you that have seen the summit park, 20 feet after the landing on any feautre means flat flat flat.
So the partol said they sledded him down. The spot where the skier landed was all marked up in paint, and they said that it was 80 feet from landing to takeoff. All i can say is that i hope whoever the skier was is ok, and that there isnt any internal bleeding or anything.
I got all of this from many different people, so im not sure if all of what i gathered is exact, so if you know any more, feel free to correct or add.
