theabortionatorI don't even care about the rep/dem circle jerk football rivalry. It's weird to me that people picked trump to be the guy, the deity, the hill they'll die on.
I don't get it. Especially from the religious. It goes to show how hopelessly tied to the party people can be.
I get voting for trump because you didn't like biden, or voting for trump because you liked something he said or allegendly stands for.
There's a huge difference between that and the madness that surrounds trump. Sure some people like biden a ton, but it was more like "i really like biden and have a sign in my yard that ill take down after the election".
Not " i love this dude so much ill freak out about anything against him, have people hanging in effigy in my yard, have wild conspiracy theory signs, have some racist bumper stickers, and have a sign for an election 4 years out."
Shit's just weird. I really don't get it.
I get that not everyone that voted for trump is one of the ultra crazy people, but it's a pretty decent percentage, an impressive percentage.
Why?
Ok, you hate big government, and stuff? Cool, but why trump? Because hes an outsider? I mean he wasn't in politics but he wasn't some average guy.
What do people think they actually have in common with him?
Somebody says fuck joe biden or herp derp lets go brandon I'm so sneaky and Im like cool, biden kinda sucks, who cares. You say something negative about trump to people and they're veins nearly burst out of their head with anger.
Is it just team sports vibe gone to far, are people fully cooked? I like to believe that people are somewhat logical beings.
At what point did it go from "this guy says ridiculous shit that makes me laugh" to "this is my god" vibes.
You always say that the duality of the two party system is ridiculous, (and I agree for the most part), but you can't seem to recognize or level with even the most basic principles of people who have different ideas than you do, which in turn reinforces the binary system that currently find ourselves in.
People voted trump because at the time he was a stick in the spokes of the establishment. That's pretty much it. He said things in a manner that was irregular for a traditional politician and that resonated with people. He had internet hype like Ron Paul but with far greater memetic energy. Trump knew this and he embraced it. He found a few hot topics that resonated with the conservative base and he embraced the meme energy and twitter shitposting that people loved. It's literally that simple.
Why Trump? Because he was the only one doing it at the time with the amount of influence and resources a man like him has so naturally he rises to the top. The billions of dollars in free press the media gave him helped tremendously as well. In short, Trump broke the machine that has been moving the country in a direction that half its population want nothing to do with.
You want to talk about angry people and veins bursting out of heads with anger? Say literally anything positive about Trump and you'll see exactly what you're talking about.
Trump was right about border security.
Trump was right about the chinese threat.
Trump was right to close down the border in Jan. 2020.
Trump was right about voter ID.
Did your bp just rise?
Would you have an honest conversation about any one of those topics and be able to remain emotionally composed? How about a journalist from the washington post or NYT?
Under no circumstance was trump perfect or even close to perfect. There are MANY, MANY things I don't like about trump but he was never the devil the machine made him out to be, and he certainly wasn't any sort of mastermind behind an alleged "insurrection".
I think if you looked at how the political landscape among people on the opposite side of the spectrum I think you probably relate most with, you would see Trump has lost a LOT of support even though the media wont let him go. He started the most recent round of infinite money being printed. He started the 15 years to slow the spread nonsense. He's the one that gave us fauci, who is the only person in the world who loves being on television more than he does. He turned into the biggest pharmaceutical salesman of all time. He's the one that paused rent but not mortgages for the homes being rented. He's the one that left Julian Assange hangin but pardoned a bunch of fuckin goobers on his way out. All in all the only people still talking about trump online are the zealots (boomer tier idiots), and the left(mostly the media).
Personally I'm right there with you though about the politician worship.. The people that are obsessed with him are just as goofy as the people who are obsessed with biden. They're literally just two old fucks who are gonna die before they see the results of the damage they're both inflicting on this country.
Forgive the assumption here, but I fell like you don't get it because maybe you don't want to get it. You seem pretty fatigued by all the political talk these days and tbh, I don't blame you. All this non stop fuckery in this country that comes from every angle imaginable is fucking exhausting to witness. The blackpill is the easiest pill to swallow in this political climate because if we're being honest, I don't think anyone sees much hope on the horizon. This country is fundamentally split on so many issues that I'm genuinely concerned about how the next few months/years are going to pan out.
