Isn’t it vital to American democracy that votes are counted and the person with the most votes wins instead of whoever shows up with the most force?

How would you feel if your guy won and the opponent strong armed them out of taking office through political corruption and violence?

I agree they don't represent the entire party, but just because they don't represent the entire party does not mean that a group of individuals, whether it was 5% of the people at the capital or 100% of the people at the capital, attempted to subvert an election.

I follow what the FBI says, which is that most people there were dumbasses and 5% or so were there to actually attempt to prevent an election from being certified and potentially hurt/kill government officials.

I also find it interesting that the example that you give is "scary Viking man" and not the individuals bear macing cops, beating cops, the majority of the crowd shouting to hang the vice president, confederate flags being flown, and the first people to enter the building shouting "let's get in there and get them to hunt them down one by one".

The argument of "well they didn't actually succeed in subverting the election, so it's fine just do it a different day" doesn't hold much water. If you try to commit a crime, and don't succeed, it's still a crime.

You always say that the duality of the two party system is ridiculous, (and I agree for the most part), but you can't seem to recognize or level with even the most basic principles of people who have different ideas than you do, which in turn reinforces the binary system that currently find ourselves in.

People voted trump because at the time he was a stick in the spokes of the establishment. That's pretty much it. He said things in a manner that was irregular for a traditional politician and that resonated with people. He had internet hype like Ron Paul but with far greater memetic energy. Trump knew this and he embraced it. He found a few hot topics that resonated with the conservative base and he embraced the meme energy and twitter shitposting that people loved. It's literally that simple.

Why Trump? Because he was the only one doing it at the time with the amount of influence and resources a man like him has so naturally he rises to the top. The billions of dollars in free press the media gave him helped tremendously as well. In short, Trump broke the machine that has been moving the country in a direction that half its population want nothing to do with.

You want to talk about angry people and veins bursting out of heads with anger? Say literally anything positive about Trump and you'll see exactly what you're talking about.

The violence during the BLM protests usually only really was spurred on once the cops started beating the shit out of everyone they could and spraying tear gas around like it was candy on halloween. They almost always started out peaceful and only became a problem once the police started swinging clubs at people like it was the 60s.

The violence at the capitol was fully intentional by a large amount of entitled fatfuck jerks who were being told outright lies that upheld their unfounded beliefs. It was spurred on by political leaders... and the cops barely showed up.
