Recently broke my ski, the topsheet broke and came up from the sidewalls i had no idea how but when i was looking through clips i found this. I gotta cut down on the fun dip
I don’t think they should of released on you here. You were lined up decent. The back pressure screws probably turned out, as is typical for those bindings.
then all your weight hanging over one ski instead of two. Bindings fault.

Maybe im not a huge binding nerd i just prefer them personally

'the back pressure screws probably turned out as is typical'
No, just no. First off, you mean forward pressure. Second off, you're a fool if you believe this.

yes forward pressure, oops.
i might be a fool, i can accept that.
but this video is evidence to how bad pivots actually are. look at the brakes ffs. i can almost guarentee @Chrischi69 dins are cranked above what is actually recomended, but they still released for no good reason. it was not high speed, not off a tall feature and he wasnt so far off from sticking it. where was the famed "flexibility" of the pivots now?
i will always actively steer people away from pivots/fks. rossi shouldnt be able to get away making the same shit for decades and making millions because some henrik wannabes will still gobble up their hot garbage.
a quick search will show plethora of obvious problems with them. maybe squires arent the way to go, but id rather have a $150 binding break over a $800 pair of skis

I don’t know why people are arguing over pivots. Your bindings functioned as they should. You went up and down to a pretty flat landing. Then you went over the handlebars

yea my bad.
my hatred for pivots just got the better of me. looking for problems where there werent any.
its a shame those skis snapped, i felt the pain on OPs behalf

if you had set up multiple pairs of pivots you would know that there is a procedure to determining correct forward pressure, from which point your binding will absolutely hold correctly. running a low din from there will still kind of work for the average skier, a high din is quite dangerous. where have you been seeing pivots or fks releasing incorrectly?

yea, you have the indicator line where the white plastic has to go past. you turn the barrrels clockwise to increase pressure, ccw to decrease.
tbh i havent seen them pre releasing for anyone else. ive had 5 sets and just dont like them.
i saw red when those on3ps snapped and was too quick to blame the bindings. oops.

youre good im just asking for future readers' reference.
the indicator tab on pivots can't be trusted, although it can be a decent ballpark measure. the official manual even says this. you want to look at if/where the heel of the boot contacts the heelpiece (i usually got for a sliver of space in between the two off the bat), the angle that the dildo makes when boot is snapped in (should be around 80 degrees), should have no side to side movement in the heel when snapped in (when really yanking on it you might be able to move it), and a few other things.
LOL aren't these the same skis The Bunch butters all the time and you kids freak out like its somehow impressive? This jackass almost bent them in half by landing backseat on a 5ft rail. What a joke.
I think that was a weak point for that ski, I did the same to my 102s on a butter and it was warrantied real quick, on3p customer service has never done me wrong. I believe it was fixed but not positive but I do know I land stupid backseat on my 21 102s and they have been solid as fuck.

You can blatantly see his right ski catch an edge and release at the toe, perhaps saving his acl from a backwards twisting fall. Pivot brakes suck and they're finicky to adjust but once they're set they are one of the smoothest most reliable bindings on the market

The more time I spend on the forum, the more I emphasize with skierman.
on3ps aren’t cool cause they perform well.
I think the history of the brand is cool. Starting up in iggyskiers garage with ns as it’s first sales platform.
I think it’s a success story that everyone should aspire to in one way or another.

but i cant justify spending $800 on a pair of skis that will get trashed on rails. id consider them for a playful twin tip allmountain ski, but there are so many skis in that segment.

or you could properly set pivots up and not break anything lmfao

ima agree with this, i didn’t cop another pair of mags cause they’re so damn expensive now even though i really loved them. rode them until i physically couldn’t turn on the hill anymore.
ajbskiThis again. We get it. You don’t like squires.
had buddy here been on anything other than pivots, his nice on3ps might’ve skied another day.
My Kartels broke when my Griffons tried to pull out and it cracked the core at the screws.
Chrischi69I was missing a shit ton of edge so it s probabaly why it bent so much
Ah yeah it was definitely predamaged. I assume your edge broke due to rail usage and so your ski probably has gotten other small damage in that area as well. You landed that on your tails at just the right angle where the damaged ski had nothing to do except completely snap.
If on3p's warranty can't help ya out, you may be able to buy a fiberglass repair kit for like 25 bucks and fill your ski with G-flex epoxy and wrap the outside in new fiberglass. Might extend the life of your nice Mags for the rest of the season.
