What up NS. So i started skiing park last year and have been slowly trying to teach myself some basic rail skills (with help from YT, friends, and here). Over the past few weeks, ive gotten so much more comfortable with my front 2s, and today I actually committed to trying my first few 4s ever, I got super close on the first 2, and landed the third one. I was hyped cuz it felt like my first ever "real" spin out of a rail, but also kind of confused/annoyed considering I still havent landed a single B2. I was wondering if anyone here could offer me some backside spin advice. I can actively pedal to switch on the majority of features, and am able to do unnatty (right) 3s, but I have no idea what I can do to make some progress on learning the b2. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
make sure you’re waiting until you get to the end of the feature for the back 2, you don’t pedal but the concept is the same, you want some pressure on the toe side of your lead foot to give you a little bit of force for your spin, just like when you were learning to 360 you need to put your chin on your shoulder and keep it there until your rotation is finished. really try to stick the landing, youre legs will often come down before your head finishes the rotation
When I was learning B2s something that helped me was thinking about get perfectly 90 degrees to the rail, almost passed 90 degrees. Go to switch with a little pop off the end. Add a touch of speed and pop hard and rip the twist. They really aren't that much harder than F2s, just takes a bit more commitment.
you gotta start the spin by pedaling and when you feel your body rotate you gotta jump and look in the direction you’re spinning. Swing your arms for extra spin.
Back 450 examples, these show what i’m saying but more exaggerated
