larilinesignDrive around the 2 mile radius surrounding the campus to look at areas you like and noting them on a map. Some of them, like by the Smiths Ballpark, have crackhead issues that would be a fatal mistake to rent a place unseen.
larilinesignDrive around the 2 mile radius surrounding the campus to look at areas you like and noting them on a map. Your best bet is to live in a house with 2 or 3 other students (aiming for ~$600 to rent a room). Find a neighborhood that you can envision yourself doing that.
Some areas near the university are lovely. Some of them, like by the Smiths Ballpark, have crackhead issues that would be a fatal mistake to rent a place unseen.
holt_upplaces on campus
brotoCheck out the student life center, the library, the HC (heritage center) and the dorms, and the buildings of whatever department(s) you think you'll be in. Student union would be good to check out too. Maybe take a walk up on the bonneville shoreline trail or hike the living room even tho the views will probably be nice and smoggy 🤮. The natural history museum and red butte gardens are worth a visit as well if you have extra time
