Replying to Newbie needs help with a setup
So I have been snowboarding for 8 years. Was skiing my whole life prior, Never got great at it but I was decent. I want to get back into skiing but my knowledge of the ski world is slim. I live on the east cost so my main terrain is ice and hardpack. I like to spend a majority of my day in the park and like to mob the mountain with the squad any other time, I enjoy the trail until I see a side hit or tree run and then the trail is out of the question. I'm looking for a ski that's playful yet will handle its own anywhere on the mountain I take it, I'd also like for them to not be completely useless whenever I take a trip out west into some powder but that's not as much of a concern for me. Iv'e been looking at the faction 2.0's as they seem like a good fit but I might have a bias as my inspiration for wanting to ski has come from watching all of factions videos lol. I realize the ski's/board don't make the rider but from my experience on a snowboard, the type of board really effects your overall ride. Ive always preferred a hybrid style center camber with reverse camber on the tips, I feel I'd like a similar profile on whatever ski's I get. While i'd love some ski recommendations, What i really need help with is boots and bindings. Word on the street is go with whatever boots fit my foot the best but id appreciate recommendations as I'm sure they have park/all mtn specific boots. And as far as bindings go.. Do they really matter all that much? Besides the obvious of the price reflecting the weight and reliability, Is there really a difference in flex or performance to ski bindings?
