Does a heel lift really help for toes bang?
My boot fitter recommended some heel lift, to help with toe bang

Not sure If I truly believe that.

What are heel lift real purpose?

I agree with willpenguin and I’m not a boot fitter of any sort, but wouldn’t it give you boot bash

Heel lifts should only be used for limited ankle dorsiflexion.

If you have limited ankle dorsiflexion, they will certainly help with toe bang by reducing the foots need to proanate(which elongates the foot) and getting you out of the back seat. If you are in the back seat, the foot gets levered forward by the cuff.

If you don’t have limited ankle dorsiflexion, heel lifts will throw you off balance.
