Judging binding conditions for use on new skis?

How do you judge if a binding is on its way out or worth putting on a new pair of skis? I'd be happy to upload photos of mine I'm just wondering if there some basic tells I should be aware of.

You could get a release test done and ask them to write down the force values for you

OP this is a good first step. They'll take a look at the bindings before accepting them for testing to look for cracks in the plastic and other cosmetic damage. I've been told I need new bindings by a few shops due to this cosmetic damage so just by visiting the shop you'll kill to birds with one stone. Whether you accept their suggestion is up to you, I've continued to ski FKS' that have cracks in them because I'm a degenerate.

See how much play there is between different parts of the binding. If the heelpiece is wiggling a lot in the track they might be toast.
