Help me figure out this place as I wrangle kids for the IFSA Jr. National. Whats rad, whats not, and whats fun to do around town and stuff like that.

do your best to tire those kids out on the hill, thats your best bet.

- get t1 or t2 done as early as possible. the hike is a great way to warm up and get the stoke going after a long gondy line.
- go back up the gondi and pick a line on CPR that you can make it to stairway after
- shred stairway until just after lunch
- drop into feuz bowl, get all the way down and go eat
- then ride the trees off of pioneer until everyones legs HURT. being further down the mountain helps get past the traffic at the end of the day

as for fun town stuff, there is not much... there is a nice bridge, that usually gets the kids going.

I figured as much regarding the town of Golden, but it still looks like a really cool place and we're all amped to get up there next week. We're staying just outside the town and will probably load up on supplies in Calgary or something. Lots of skiing planned for us between venue inspection, qualis,finals, and just skiing around, so thank you for the terrain suggestions. We've just been able to ski more "real" stuff down here in Utah so being able to ski some real steep stuff is going to be exciting.

Also is there a bear refuge there or something? My boss mentioned something about it haha.

There is a grizzly bear refuge, but bears generally hide in a den all winter. Looking at the website it seems like they do have a camera set up in there, but I still don't think that'll keep kids busy for more than a couple minutes. https://kickinghorseresort.com/purchase/boo-grizzly-bear/grizzly-bear-refuge/

Luckily, wolves are also awesome, and they don't hibernate. So you could check them out instead.

Hell yes, thanks for the photo dump and showing me some pics of the goods up there. This place looks wild. Never been out of the country to ski before so this'll be interesting to say the least. Much love and happy new year.

Another question for those who have skied there: Good idea to roll around with a beacon/shovel/probe and have the group do the same? Will be bringing my stuff regardless.

Do you plan on riding out of bounds? It’s not a requirement anywhere in bounds. Rudi’s is pretty nice
