skiermanOh look, another woman who only focuses on good looks and is upset when they don't have a high quality personality.

larilinesignLast Spring, I was with my sis and @CLQ hanging out at Powderhorn. He left to study for his final exam, and then her and I linked up with some local park kids to take laps: a couple of real nice snowboarder dudes.
We had a wonderful fun afternoon, and after the lifts stopped, they were giving us some restaurant recommendations.
In the middle of it, one dude paused and was solemnly like, "If I can leave you with ladies with one piece of advice before you leave Grand Junction, 'Stay away from the mountain bike guys in town.'" The other dude agreed like, "Yeah they are the WORST!"
He repeated that a few times, very seriously, emphasizing that they thought they were the shittiest people on Earth for women to interact with, or God forbid, date.
I asked him to elaborate, but he was all, "Just trust me, man... they're out to ruin women's lives."
@AbiH , that just kinda stuck with me. I'll forever be highly suspicious of Grand Junction mountain bike guys, and you should be too.
Must avoid Grand Junction mountain bike guys at all costs 😤🤌
So! As a Quality Control test for the Montana bike guys, you can ask if they've spent any time as a Grand Junction mountain bike guy... apparantly it ruins them.
Edit: I should add that he did say that not all mountain bike guys are bad, just the ones from Grand Junction.

CLQYeah unfortunately its true. The local university has one of, if not, the best mountain biking/cycling teams in the US. So there are a bunch of rich, privileged college students who know they are a better than everyone else. So the riding scene is chock-full of ego and elitism. Hands down the worst community I have been apart of. It's basically like having a bunch of Fagans everywhere.

larilinesignAww I didn't know you were once a Grand Junction mountain bike guy! Didn't mean to knock on ya. 😝 You and your wonderful gf have a great dynamic.
I guess not all of them are bad @AbiH !
theLiquorYou’re really closing off your options if you’re only looking within the ski/bike community and so you may just settle for the least-shitty. Branch out and you may find someone who skis and bikes but has other things going on in life and aren’t just defined by skiing or biking. But sometimes it’s good to have things that are just for you. I really miss skiing with my wife but at this point maybe one of the best things i have going for me is being able to get away and just ski with the boys.
And idk if it’s just me growing up, or… but the guys in ski towns actually seem to de-evolve over time. I get hating tourists and wanting to make it uncomfortable as possible for non-locals, but it seems like i watch friends do this so much that they actually just become an adolescent again and only stray further from growing up. My friend is married to a girl who’s very successful, mature, god fearing, but all i can think is “jesus man, pull it together or this girl is gonna divorce you when she hits that moment of clarity”😫😫
