switchlip2Don’t get pivots till your skiing ability actually benefits from them. I see people on directional all mountain skis with pivots shit makes me cringe
powpatrollol wtf is the problem with pivots on directionals?
switchlip2It was a pair of head kore 87s and I gurantee the guy riding has never left the ground on skis

r00kieAre we really gatekeeping pivots now? Yikes.
Christian_Baleif you're a younger teenager who's getting into park then marker squires are honestly fine imo. No need for 14 din bindings like pivots when you're riding at 7.

CatdickBojanglesWhy you on Virtika.com?
skeirmanLOL dude shut the fuck up and just worry about yourself.
DeadBI'm pretty sure pivots weren't designed with freestyle in mind but that they just so happened to work really well when freestyle took off.

Coleg55At least get attacks. Squires are only good for complete beginners.

asparagusI switched from marker squires to pivot 14s and my din is only 6.5. Pretty big difference. No more pre-releases, I can actually butter while having my skis release correctly when I fall, so no more cranking dins.
SmokedGoudaYeah. no need to be crazy to ride pivots. They change the dynamic and make the releases more predictable. They can be a pain to put back on in some instances like pow, but if you can snag em for 220 from Corbets for the 15s, why get any other binding apart from preference?

Icant_kfedPeople were giving me shit on that post for telling people not to get pivots if you can’t ski
switchlip2It was a pair of head kore 87s and I gurantee the guy riding has never left the ground on skis
HypeBeastWait...arent these two assholes saying the same thing? Why is the one post being up voted? Did the double negatives confuse y'all? Icantkfed literally just said he told people who can't ski to avoid getting pivots.
Who fucking cares where you ski, what you ski, or how good you are. As long as the din setting is cool and the binding category is correct for its usage, then it doesn't matter. You don't need a specific type of ski or ability to rock one binding or another. Sheesh.

Skier_boi616Lmao my man isn’t lying thought 😂😂

ajbskihate me if you want, but my current park whips are 171 elan sling shots with squires. i weigh 180lbs and im 5'10". the dins are set to 10 and ive never pre-released throwing cork 5s/7s off of medium jumps. the whole set up cost like $400 cad. when you go through a pair of skis or bindings every other year it does not make sense to spend more unless you are competing.
they are super-light bindings with very little wrong with them. ive owned pivots, jesters, attacks and sth and i would still return to squires.
-pivots can rotate when taking them off and not release the spring. just a pain in the ass if you are hiking a rail.
-jesters are awesome but much heavier than squires. and i would get the heel piece in the ass getting deep into a turn in moguls more that pivots
-i like the attack toe piece, but the dual/cam action heel piece has caused me problems with snow buildup freezing in the mechanism
-STHs offer the best hold and release characteristics IMO, but the heel piece has the same problems as the attacks. and theyre just so bulky.
Jemsbro?????
Jemsjust wait until you land switch going really nose heavy and maybe your opinion will change. most people buy pivots and nicer bindings for longevity and overall reliability (besides their brakes obviously) instead of “trying to make people think they’re good”.
ajbskijems are you saying you also ride 150 flex boots and 190cmx120mm skis?
fks and pivots have horrible quality, the low friction pad on the toe piece peels away for no reason.
the plastic wings that wrap around your toe box snap off
the screws to adjust back pressure keep moving, strip away or shear.
the base plate on the heel cracks and the springs fall out
the drill points on the heel piece are way too close together and the binding tears away due to a lack of leverage.
you can find squires for $150. ive bought two sets of squires and replace parts as necessary and i still spend less money than on jesters/griffons/pivots/attacks. the same bindings have been mounted at least 3 pairs of skis over the last 5 years.
im 30 years old, theres no way i would pick landing a bad jump over busting my knees.
Jemsi’m a park rat and i ride 96mm/180cm. i don’t appreciate bindings that have broken on me, my brother, and multiple homies from slams rather than ware. i’ll agree pivots are very overrated but they are still superior to squires. there’s a reason you don’t see anyone over the age of 15 riding them in the park.

HomerPimpini’ve got pivots on my line blades, whatcha gonna do about it big boy
NikolaB73Laugh at ya cause you're on blades
HomerPimpinlmaoo don’t hate cause you’re too broke to buy blades
HomerPimpinlmaoo don’t hate cause you’re too broke to buy blades
NikolaB73If I got them for free, I would still go and buy different skis. If the only good attribute to the ski you can place is price then just get off ns and go to ski tok
