ericformanYou do realize this is their job and they need to get paid to like…live. It’s like $20 for a year, pay or go to noaa yourself.
eheathThe dude who used to do wasatch snow forecast is still a part time blogger for open snow and he probably made more money on adsense with his own website than open snow is giving him... this is open snow trying to make money, which is fine but they're gonna lose a large amount of their audience.
brotoIf WSF made more money doing it independently, why would he even bother partnering up with opensnow? I honestly doubt he's making less now.

ericformanYea that’s fine. One can claim this move is bad for their business. Maybe it is maybe it isn’t. Claiming they suck because they want to charge for a service is dumb though. If you don’t get $20 of value out of it then don’t pay. I don’t say fuck Starbucks for charging me $3 for something I can make myself. I just don’t pay. OpenSnow with wind guests, smoke forecast, etc I actually find useful enough to not have to dig through other sources myself. If it turns out they can support themselves better through free content + ads I imagine they will switch back.
eheathUse NOAA.gov it has snow predictions that are very accurate, rip wasatch snow forecast.
BrandoComandoBrian is the best forecaster in Tahoe. His daily posts alone justify the price of OpenSnow for me. I'm happy to pay a bit to support him and his family since he does such a good job.
Forecasts for other regions can be super hit-or-miss on that platform. I guess it just depends on where you live
