If you ever have any ideas on ways we can give back to the community please send them my way! Always down to do what we can with our limited budget. We've done NS design contest, sponsored the awards show, sponsored dozens of rail jams around the East Coast, hosted our own rail jam in the summer, gave away 150 pairs of skis and boards through an afterschool ski program in PA, etc.
It's definitely tough to find new and creative ways to give back and support the community though! Especially with a small budget, so I'm all ears to new ideas!!
Those are all great! We all thank you for those generous contributions! But the thing that has proven to work time and time over on NS is supporting a crew of exceptional content creators based off of NS. In the end we want to see something exciting and new always.
HG skis has done a decent job of that. and they have a strong identity in terms of east coast skiers.
But thats just my opinion, you are the owner and you have to decide whats best for your company. In the end, one dumb ass on NS talking shit isnt going to make or break you.

To be fair, HG skis did not survive. As unfortunate as it is, 99% of snow sports companies are almost entirely reliant on stupid jerries, and you can’t expect other TINY companies to give back to the “NS community” on the level that HG did while also surviving

GilsonSkisSold 51 in total, So over $1200 in proceeds. But Marion just jumped ship on us anyways. Hence the shirt no longer being for sale. She got an offer from another brand, sad to see her go. Especially after all we'd been working to do for her. One of the best female rail skiers out there!

I believe it was kinda last minute, so he and his brother missed out on slopestyle and got in with halfpipe. Kinda crazy, because slopestyle is their thing, not halfpipe.

Yeah she probably wanted a company that wasn't fucking wack.
I don't know the exact details of what she's been offered, so I can't speak to that side. But it's more big fish little pond vs small fish big pond idea. The percentage of our team budget/personalized attention going to her was undoubtedly larger than it will be on the new team.

Large companies that come into the industry and throw money around for a few years and don't give an actual shit are the enemy. It actively does harm to the industry to go out of your way to hate and put out bad press on small ski brands.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Gilson is dope. They’re a small ski/snowboard brand that’s rider owned that sponsors sick underground skiers. He’s not on the team anymore but they hooked up Simeon Glas, who is mad dope. Gilson has a similar concept as a brand to HG as the name is the dude who made therm’s name and they sponsor underground skiers. They may not be street oriented like HG and out of Burlington Vermont but that shouldn’t matter. I don’t like to describe things as core but Gilson is the definition of core, any of you all hating on them blindly are the real kooks here. Gilson is dope and is nothing but positive for the freeski community.

All they’re doing is reaching a broader audience to make more money to put back into the ski community through events and sponsor ships plus content. Like yo how do you not see that? What bad has the brand done besides done some things outside your taste. Don’t publicly bash them influencing people to not support them just because they’re not for you. They’ve done nothing but positive things for skiing.

Gilson really don't be farting tho. I rip at least a couple serious 1's a day, not to mention my morning practice routine. I've got it all figured out too, I've learnt to get my reps in while bathing and eating. Nice fizzy coca cola to start the day off. Life really ain't nuthin but a toot.
