Flat top vs. rounded rails

I’ve been making some significant progress recently in the park. I’ve moved past boxes and gone into trying rails. However I’m only really confident with flat top + double barrel rails. I wanna move on to rounded rails but I don’t know what to expect. Is controlling the lateral movement of your skis remarkably difficult? Plus are there any any tips you guys can give when you made this transition? Thanks.

I’ve never found round rails any harder. If anything they’re a lot easier to swap/grip for spins out.

I personally think tubes are easier than flat bars, as you can pedal easier and you don’t have to be on the edge of the rail. It’s a lot easier than it’s seems, you just have to try it

rails aren’t any harder really, just make sure you fully commit. go faster than you think you need too.

if you feel in control sliding a double barrel you’ll be surprised how indifferent a tube or other round feature feels

Yeah what they said. I think its alot easier to grip.. that why I prefer round rails over flats

For me anything round from fat tubes to skinny handrails are way easier than anything with a flat top, like flat rails and boxes. Yeah you can grind them but gripping is sketchy and wonky.

I've always said tubes are easier than flat bars. Sooo much easier to pedal on them like others have said. You'll probably end up liking them more as well after you hit your first few. I honestly hate flatbars/boxes at this point haha

I hate bar rails. If it was up to me every rail would be a round rail.

The flat bar rails I've hit are always sticky and less satisfying to get tricks on. Tubes are the move for getting into rails and learning new tricks.
