Forward Lean Question

I have FT first chair 6's with the 4mm forward lean shim equipped rn. I like to ski with a really aggressive stance and I find when I bend my knees a lot it kinda makes me feel more backseat than I would like. Would adding more forward lean fix this problem? Is it even a problem in the first place? Its not that serious I still ski fine but I can't help but feel like I can be a little more forward. Im also really tall and skinny too so idk if that also plays a role in forward lean setting.

Got beef w my local bootfitters so don't even tell me to go see one

lmfaoo how u got beef with multiple bootfitters.

yes the forward lean would change that. if you are skinny and have less calf volume, you could be more upright in the boot.

Leaning forward> leaning back. For me i never leave aggressive forward stance because i would much rather tomahawk then get gnarly boot bang. boot pain ends my day way quicker than falling forwards into tomahawks all day long

theres only one bootfitter in like a 100km radius of where I live and these guys mounted my skis and binding ripped out. No big deal. The problem is that a got them to remount and they ripped out again first day. I would understand that aswell but what they didn’t tell me is that they fucked up remounting the second time and drilled an extra set of holes without telling me about it.

Anyone with any basic knowledge of ski mounting or woodworking can tell you that my binding was obviously gonna rip out with holes that close. Plus they didn’t patch them. Plus they didn’t tell me about it. So I walked in there absolutely livid and roasted the fuck out of them. They shouldn’t even have a shop after that shit. Imagine I got injured.

So ya fuck those guys. I’ll never go back there

Did they at least pay for the sticks or give you a discount on new ones?

Hey so I’m trying to understand the situation. You like to be forward but this makes you feel like you are back seat? Im not quite understanding that part. Do you feel like you can’t lean forward enough in the boots currently for your liking?

Basically the issue is I already have the 4mm shims in my boots rn which add the most forward lean but when I get in an agressive stance I don’t feel as forward as I would like to be. I might honestly just be trippin cuz its early szn idk but im also wondering if my lankyness plays a part in it lol. Like maybe because im tall af it takes a lot more forward pressure on the boots to get down that far?? Idek tbh

No they didn’t. Fucking assholes. I mean I did go in there guns blazing but fuck thats so messed up they did that in the first place. If I fot injured they wouldn’t have a shop anymore know what im sayin

Well if you feel you can’t flex forward enough the first thing would be to try a softer tongue in the boots. The tongue is the resistance to flexing forward so if you feel you can get forward enough it may be they are just too stiff for you.

Yo I’m tall too. I put my forward lean forwards and it helped immensely , I used to feel the same way with putting the weight forwards puts you in the backseat but giving it more lean helped me a shit ton.
