Has anyone seen this? Crystal Mountain is requiring “reservations for anyone”?
Does this mean literally everyone has to reserve spots for any day they want to go?

Cain360They did the ol bait and switch. Just curious if you did not make a reservation and try to go through the lift line would they know?
VitiligoI was curious about that as well. Also, why is this even a thing? What’s the benefit to the resort? Or is this some BS Washington state Covid protocol?
PeppermillRenoProbably too many skiers and not enough employees.
I heard Stevens only filled 30/80 lifty spots. WA state has a ton of snow and more than full coverage but I don't think they have enough people to work. Skiing is more popular than ever WA is no longer a sleeper destination tons of people have moved there due to the snowfall they get and this year its blower and pristine not heavy cement. Ikon base holders can't go to Jackson/Aspen/Big Sky either so why not Crystal?
PimpChimpinThere is absolutely NO such thing as not enough employees. The only reason for having no employees is by not paying them shit. If Walmart down the road is paying 15 and the resort is paying 13, who’s gonna wanna sit out in the cold for less money? End of story. These large corporations are doing it to themselves.
PeppermillRenoI agree with you but a dollar an hour doesn't make much difference when your housing went up a thousand bucks a month because the landlord decided to AirBNB your spot.
The resorts that operated on the smallest budgets and don't have deep pockets seem to be the least affected by the labor crunch.
Fuck Vail Corp. I hope some of the people working for them strike and block the lot with an 18 wheeler and all the jerrys and douchebag rich boomers have to freeze in the cold.
PimpChimpinFair. Could be said that it only really occurs with vail. They can’t open shit and blame it on snow conditions but no, it’s because you don’t wanna pay your ski patrol or even your lifties. 46 meetings have been held between pcspa and vail and not one contract has been proposed. Unbelievable. I hope they go on strike, vail will give in after a week of lost profit at the most.

larilinesignUpdate:
Reservations will be foe parking, not tickets
PeppermillRenoYeah.
Honestly at this point its not really vails bottom line that matters they don't care if they make a little less. They got plenty of funds. The people who own real estate in these towns should suffer. Get a set of skins shitbags if you want to ski or go bump the lifts yourselves.
I am refusing to give their mountains a cent this year or next at least. I heard they only had 4 snowmakers total at Stowe.
Whats crazy is that my hill Cannon isn't even selling many day passes. THey sell them out and the tram has less than 10 people on it at 130pm. Good for me New England skiing is what it is the best days are never much different than the worst days.

GrandThingsHow you liking Cannon? I always though you were a west coast dude?
