I'm thinking about selling my touring setup to get a telemark setup. I mainly ski just around the wasatch resorts and get into the backcountry maybe once or twice a year. I mainly ski with my wife and she's good but I want to spice up my day skiing. I've telemarked one time before on a friends setup and it was the sketchiest but craziest time I've had in a long time on just groomed runs. Is it worth it to switch? Anyone else make the change in their mid 20's? Will I be kissing my knee's goodbye for good?
Any recommendations for a first setup? I'm thinking about just buying a cheap used setup but am also intrigued by the NTN setups? I'm 6'1" and my current daily drivers are 184 moment bibbys which are 118 underfoot. Should I go for something like 80 or 100mm underfoot and shorter length? I'm all ears for any input, thoughts, or questions.
