Skis rusting

I bought a pair of used kartels and they were fine when I bought them. Since then I’ve skied probably 10 days and I’m noticing rust on the edges. Should I be worried?

Wipe off the snow after you ski. If your edges stay wet, they'll rust.

Wax them and it should just come off. Worst case ontario just use a file or a edge sharpener.

It also depends on how you store your skis. I found my edges would rust when stored horizontal or left in my ski bag, but keeping them verticle so the snow can drip right or just wiping them helps.

Metal rusts when you leave it wet. Dry them off. Gummi the rust spots.

Gummi the rust and take it in for a full tune every once in a while

Rail some corduroy it’s the skiing version of an Italian tune up. Works 2 out of 3 times, every time.

Probably explains it. I’ve been on a road trip and just leave my skis in the rocket box whereas I usually hang them at home.
