Just got my self some arv 106’s for Xmas and am most likely going to put pivots on them since my local shop is practically giving them away on sale. However, I want the WTR timepiece as I know a couple people who have blown knees on pivots and all blame it on the traditional toe piece. I was wondering if anyone has had any durability issues with the WTR toepiece. Might just be me overthinking, but it seems like they would break more often given the fact that there are more moving parts. Let me know if anyone has had any issues and recommendations you may have as alternatives. Cheers
bindings arent made to protect your knees, theyre made to protect the bones in your lower leg. blaming knee injuries on the toe piece doesnt make any sense. if you want pivots get pivots, you dont need the WTR toepiece and pivots or a WTR toepiece isnt going to be any safer than any other alpine binding.
While it's true that the style of toe on the 14 and 12 allow for different movements of release, they definitely didn't blow their knees because of the design of the 15/18 din toe.

This is why you don’t listen to people on the internet. The WTR toe piece will behave no differently than the old toe piece. This has to be one of the dumbest takes I’ve heard on this site.
