Are you superstitious about calling "last run"

I've never been very superstitious, but have always had homies who have been pretty anal about never calling last run, so I started to get into the habit, saying "two more, skip the last". Two weeks ago, I was ripping with a new group of homies, and they were all calling last run. On that run, I ate shit, and put my hip into a rock that was sticking outta the snow. Couldn't walk for a few days, and took a week off. Last Wednesday was my first day back on snow, and it was going good, until another one of the homies called last run. Well, I ended up overshooting, and landed on my head, knocking myself out, and mangling my head. So one bruised hip, and one concussion later, I'm wondering if there's some value in not calling last run. Or, maybe I'm just a dumbass.

Always call 2 skip. Last week some kid I barely knew called l*st r*n and broke his bindings. A few seasons ago different kid called it and blew out mcl acl and meniscus.

Last spring i was carrying down a heavy camera in my bag so didn't even bother hitting features. caught an edge while carving in the slush and did a misty 270 to my back. luckily camera was ok. In general I don't care about calling it or not, cuz I usually just do straightslides on my way down.

Im not really superstitious, but I never send on last run. Its usually to get back to the lodge or parking lot

Bruh this literally happened to me but while mountain biking. I was the one who called last run, we rode down a blue trail and literally last jump I fucked up, fell into some rocks off-trail, completely broke off my front tooth and fractured my cheekbone. I wasn't wearing a full-face helmet (worst decision of my life). Lesson learned.

I believe that the reason I get hurt when I say last run is because I start thinking about the warm car, the drive home and more subconsciously. I am therefore less focused on my skiing, making it more likely for me to crash. Don't know if this is true, it would make sense though

Yeah this, two skip etc are all acceptable.

Sucks when somebody is trying to put last run voodoo on you, and you're like no lets see how we feel at the bottom, or do a few more. And said person can't take the hint.

Calling last run is scientifically proven to be risky as hell.

Sure some people do it and nothing happens. Sometimes people hang off cranes or radio towers and do chin ups and dont die. Why risk it though?

I haven't looked into this, but it does make sense. Has anyone done any studies/written anything about this shit?

I am quite superstitious about the dumbest things. Feel like the world always tries to show me thing and tell me something.

calling last run ain’t it tho. I usually don’t call too much, but i wouldn’t mind to do it last run.

This is what my dad hammered into my brain since before I could walk NEVER do l.st r.n even if your buddy's are. Because you have now shifted all focus to not skiing and having beers at the bottom but you still got a mountain to get down first.

sometimes ski to the car and go home for a bit and sometimes they kick me out (something about closing which sounds like bs IMO) but it’s never the last run

nah it’s juju man, last run call and i feel like you’re more likely to get smoked on the most mellow things than from sending

L*st r*n only affects you if you are aware of it, some of my friends that are new to the sport were confused when I told them can’t call “the thing”. None of them have ever experienced the phenomenon, which confirms my theory that calling l*st r*n is only dangerous if you are aware of the superstition.

Nah see I always got wrecked when my friends who didnt know about it would say it. I am fully aware and always call it because fuck the system. I always stare down the Bridger Whale on the way up, too.

You're missing out man. Nothing feels better than absolutely killing it on the last run of the day and cruising to the parking lot like a fucking boss.

I think if you say last run cuz the lift is closing you're fine. If you say last run just cuz you're quitting it's bad. I always say let's evaluate at the bottom

This is such facts, legit just skiin groomers with my dad on last run and I was just cruising And boom I cross my tips and eat shit. Don’t think I’ve don’t that since I was like 10 and I 1000% blame it on that call

I over shot a pole jam to beyond gucci and died yesterday. Was unaware how much it actually hurt. Things started to hurt at work last night. Nose feels like I got punched, rib is bruised, knee is tweaks. I think I even told myself it was two skip but maybe somebody uttered the words. It was on the way home for sure though.

I guess at least I didn't break anything. My knees buckled and I just slammed off the ground. Luckily it was a slight pow coating or I might have really done something. Fuck last funs.
