MY SHINS NEED HELP!

So I have really bad shin bang for at least like a consistent year now from last year in low flex boot and always landing backseat and just ducking my shins. They would always hurt, even through the off season, they would hurt even from the lightest hit from something.


this season I got full tilts with a 6 flex and my Shins are Still getting mashed up, I over cooked a backflip today and now my shins are more mashed then some potatoes on thanksgiving or sum shit idk. They even hurt just to have frontward shin pressure on my boot so I look like a Jerry skiing around,

I just need some tip and advice to prevent this and to treat it

This sounds like it might be periostitis or periosteal inflammation, which is basically an injury/bruising to the outside of the bone. Think shin-bang on steroids. I’d guess you probably had shin bang for a while and pushed through it, and it just hurt more and more. I had this shit a while back, and it sucks ass to fix but hurts worse if you don’t. I remember having a day where I got 2 runs in before it hurt so bad I legit couldn’t ski. You should definitely see a PT if you can, and they’ll probably say something like this- You need to take time off and rehab/prehab the musculature around your tibia, and strengthen your lower leg muscles and stabilizers below the knee. Ease back into it when you do, both in terms of duration, frequency, and intensity. Best of luck with it, feel better.

I don't know your body dimensions, but 6 flex is not enough for a lot of people. Perhaps you should get a tongue that is 8 or even 10. Idk what other boots did you have? What does low flex even mean? Does it flex very little or does it have a low rating? Should use the word stiffness instead of flex.

i feel like sometimes shin bang can be caused by having too much movement between the top of the boot and your lower leg, and closing the gap can really help by making the leg and boot one solid unit. maybe get a booster strap and crank that thing down, makes things feel a lot more solid in that area
