I am currently thinking about selling my old Rossigniol Soul 7 with an alpine binding, and then buying myself a nice downhill oriented pow/touring setup. As a binding i am considering the Atomic/Armada/Aalomon Shift, or the Marker Kingpin.
Now to the interesting stuff: Does anyone have any experiences with either the Armada ARV JJ116 UL or the Whitwalker? Just cant decide which one is better :(
fyi. i am only skiing in the alps (Austria)
Happy to hear your guys opinion.

Haven't skied either but know a ton about the reviews and have hand flexed both. Whitewalkers are much more stiff and damp. (want to go fast and straight) but can slice turns on a dime. Cuts through the snow like a knife.. The JJ UL is much softer flexing and won't be as stable at speed or in heavy chop, but will be more fun to butter around and jib at slow speeds. Both are great skis and will be fun for you no matter what

I’ve owned both!! I now own the Whitewalker with a kingpin and I can tell you it’s hands now the greatest setup I’ve ever owned! No matter the conditions the ski rips, it’s a completely different skiing experience then anything else I’ve ever skied! In bindings 1000% choose the kingpin over the shift! There’s not even a comparison in my opinion. The power and performance that the kingpin offers it blows the shift outta the water.

Last year i skied on jjs (not the ultralight) and this year i got some Whitewalkers. I like em much more than the jjs and they definitely charge harder. Pretty sure the JJ UL has a lightweight caruba core which makes it a biut less stable at speed. Whitewalker with Pivots is my go to resort pow ski from now on
